No it’s not, I didn’t have good luck with this tap either. It broke on an M12 impact and it only last 3 pre drilled holes.

Can this dril through and tap 1/2" thick A-36 steel bar?

I’d pre drill it first before running this tap thro. That’s a pretty thick piece of steel even tho it is mild. And make sure to lubricate the tap while using it it will snap.
