This book is poorly structured, and badly written. This book is not the one that will aid learning. But at best, could be used for referencing while writing an essay. Stylistic by Simpson, is much better structured and systemically takes you through the subject of stylistics in a controlled and understandable way. This book lacks control, and therefore is very difficult to learn from. Overall very disappointed.

it is a very handy book with very straightforward language. It gives an outline of immense importance about stylistics,its history and the scope of it and its intertwined nature with other disciplines.
