Works for internal USB add-on card port
I have an old comp that has a USB 2.0 add-on card in it. Unfortunately this add-on card doesn't have a front panel USB pin header, but DOES have a normal full size USB port inside. This adapter worked perfectly so I could attach my front panel card reader to the USB card. The card reader only uses 1 USB data line (of the two on the connector). It does utilize both power connectors and this adapter does provide power to both the first and second port (contained in the single panel connector) - only data is missing from the second. So just examine the header to be sure it's not using two datalines. The power is obviously shared between the two connectors, so be sure your device is not power hungry. My USB card gets power directly off the PCI port, so it wasn't an issue for me.

Great upgrade
Quality product. Allows one to plug in SD Card readers or other accessories into a standard USB 2 or 3 port if there are not enough USB headers on your motherboard.

Probably should check the pinout yourself
The standard USB header contains two channels (so two D+/D- pairs). The product page when I purchased this said only one of those pairs was connected, but when I tested the product I received with a multimeter, *both* pairs were connected. This might increase compatibility for single-channel devices, but if whatever you are connecting to actually uses both USB channels, this cable will short them out, yielding bizarre results at best, system reboots/other serious problems at worst. Still 4 stars because the cable is built well, with heatshrink and glue securing the wire bundle, etc. Just don't trust the product listing when it comes to the pinout description!

Plug n Play
I needed this adapter to use/power the Bluetooth feature on my Asus WiFi card. My sff dell motherboard didn’t have any internal usb ports. I was able to route the cables thru a small hole already part of the case and connected it to a usb 2.0 slot. Works perfectly! The adapter I received was the 2nd image, with the larger usb.

It works
Had to use as a work around due to having no unused usb connectors on the motherboard and no easy way to free up one. It worked as easiest way to connect new wifi / bluetooth card (TP-Link WiFi 6E Intel AX210 AXE5400 PCIe WiFi Card) to an outside usb port for bluetooth to work.

Cable Listed Wrong
Only leaving a bad review because the description is misleading. It says: "Note:Only the bottom 5 pins are wired to the USB connector intended for single USB connection header devices." This is a lie. Both the bottom 5 pins AND the top 4 pins are wired, and they are both shorted together. This difference matters because you might be tricked into thinking that devices that require two USB lanes would still at least half work with this cable, but instead you will just short out the device and get USB errors. If you bought this hoping to use it for such a purpose, you will be out of luck, unless you want to cut open the cable yourself. If you cut open the cable, you can manually cut the black wires shorting the two lanes together. If you want to be real crazy, you can cut open a second USB-A cable and solder its four wires to the black wires and then you can have two functioning lanes.

The cable is look good but I'm just starting to use it and it works very good and there is no decrease in the connection speed. I would say given it 4 start not 5 is the usb connection part or end is not fixed to the cable .

I am using this cable for my PCIe Wifi 6E card which needs an external power for the bluetooth to work. I got first an internal usb cable (similar to this one, but the usb pins can be plugged into the motherboard's internal usb 2.0 socket "of course if you have one on your main board"), but that cable didn't work for me. So, I found this cable which you need to plug it into normal usb (externally) and it works as expected; it is in use for about 3 months now without any issue.
