Is the whetstone sharpening kit safe to use? Will it hurt your hands?

It is safe to use. At first I "held the angle" of the blade steady to the whetstone through each stroke by pressing my finger tips against the whetstone while holding the knife. Since the whetstone is mildly abrasive, beware not to constantly rub your fingertips against the whetstone through each stroke. You may not realize it at the time, but you would be essentially sanding your fingertips, mildly. It is safe to use and worth it. Just be aware of this one "tip".

I bought this, and the 3000 grit (brown) stone seems to be more coarse than the 1000 (light gray). Could it be that it is mislabeled?

Same experience here. The labels on the stones i received match the images for the product listing, but the brown stone is far more coarse than the blue

What should i get to razor sharpen my ka-bar full size? will one of these stones work or will it damage my knife?
