It is especially effective at controlling salt water generator (SWG) electrode scale formation without contributing orthophosphates to the water which inhibit chlorine sanitation and act as nutrients for algae growth. Review: I needed to add 40 pounds of calcium chloride to increases hardness and this year I followed Orenda's advice of using an ounce of Sc-1000 in every 5 gallon bucket to help dissolve the calcium chloride and keep it from precipitating out. It worked great and allowed me to completely dissolve several pounds of calcium chloride in each bucket in half the time as I was able to add half as much last year. And last year I could see undissolved calcium chloride in the bottom of every bucket whereas this yea rit was completely dissolved! It took me about 13 buckets so about 3 pounds per bucket without letting it get too hot. I plan to ALWAYS use SC-1000 in the future. I wouldn’t use a big dose during the summer, because it will totally wipe out the chlorine and you’ll end up with a lot of algae.
