Reads Cards as it Should
This does the job, reads the info on a CAC card (is that redundant?), and connects with ease. Sliding the card into the reader is a challenge--not horrible, but the fit is tight. I like that it stands upright, a small plus, but a plus worth mentioning.

Great reader for this price
I recently had my previous CAC reader go down, which left me in a pinch to say the least. It was less than a year old, so I looked into other readers and found this one. I have had 3 readers thus far, and of the 3, this one so far seems the better of them. The first lasted less than a year, the second I had trouble getting to read my card, but this one, I dropped my card straight in and it took right off, no trouble at all. I hope this one lasts a good long time. I intend on getting a backup in the near future (naturally no stores near me sell them and the closest is 3 hours away) and intend on ordering a second of this reader.

Plug and Play and Easy to Use
Easy to plug and play. Works with my DOD military ID card with no issues. I don't have a CD drive on my laptop to use with the included driver disc, but I found simple instructions on the disc that led me to their website, where I was able to get the drivers and install in a pinch. Very easy to use and highly recommended for the discounted price that this sells for.

Able to check my webmail.
Had issues installing S/MIME but to be honest, I don't need to be reading encrypted emails from home. Device works great. Can access AF Portal and my Webmail and that's exactly what I purchased this device for. Only issue with respect the device itself is that it, for some reason, would not read my DOD/ID Cert. It reads my PIV Cert (no longer can use) and my Email Cert. Still, you only need the email Email cert for any access I have. Just wish it wouldn't default to my PIV but no real issue. :)

Just Straight up Stopped Working after a few days
Bought this to use for DoD purposes on my 2021 MacBook Pro during a PCS. It worked flawlessly for about a week, but one day I went to check my DoD email (I had logged on previously that morning with no issues) and all of a sudden the reader wouldn't recognize any of the certs and I couldn't log into anything requiring a CAC. Thought there may have been an issue with the CAC chip itself, but I bought a couple different readers at the PX once I got to my next duty station and they've worked flawlessly. TLDR: This card reader stopped working in less than a week.

This CAC reader works perfectly when paired with the PKard ...
This CAC reader works perfectly when paired with the PKard CAC enabler software (29.99) for my Mac. It took about 25 minutes to setup on my Mac OS Sierra following the .mil instructions which are available online. One thing to be careful about is making sure to enter your pin and not your computer password when it prompts you for your "keychain" once all is setup and ready to go online. If used with the PKard software, you will be able to use this card reader and access your .mil websites through Safari.

Very nice!
Fast and easy transfer on my MacBook 12. The labeling is a bit confusing at first but just remember that the side slots are for HC cards. My previous review (above) was for the Saicoo 4 slot Digital Memory Card Reader which I liked very much. I have subsequently acquired the Saicoo® USB C 3-Port Hub with 2-Slot Card Reader because this item included 3 USB ports in addition to the card reader slots. All 3 USB slots and both of the card reader slots work beautifully with my MacBook 12. Since the MacBook has only 1 port, this new hub is much more convenient for attaching all my peripheral devices. I now only need this 1 hub for all of my plug-in needs. Highly recommended.I received a sample of this product for my unbiased review.
