A must for outdoor cedar planter boxes.
Used for my outdoor cedar planter box. Has lasted 2 Upstate NY years so far and looks great!

I will use this product again.
Perfect! Best stain Iโve ever used. It is thick which made it easy to control. The color is beautiful. We used cheap pine boards for our countertop and the color of this stain made it so pretty for fractions of the coat of the better boards. We used two coats to get our desired color. Iโve attached a picture that shows the original boards, and then after the first coat, and the final product.

Beautiful, non-toxic, baby safe, and easy to use!
We used this cherry stain on several items: our floor crib, a wooden wall hanger for mobiles, and an unfinished wooden teether toy/rattle. We put 3 coats on everything, the instructions on the Tried & True website were very easy to follow and as recommended we used cotton rags to apply it, which I ordered on Amazon along with the stain. A little goes a long way, we still have half a pint left. We did all of this in the babyโs room, since there are no fumes or VOCs from this product and itโs easy to clean up any excess that drips. No need for gloves either since linseed oil is very safe, and there are no chemicals in this. Be sure to follow the instructions and wipe vigorously with a clean rag between coats, and you shouldnโt have any issues. It took my hubby and I an hour and a half to do the crib. The little toy and the mobile hanger only took maybe 20 minutes. It was very easy, we left them alone to cure for a couple of days, and there is no tackiness. We love how they turned out with the cherry stain! :) We have some floating bookshelves that need to be sanded before staining, so after hubby sands those down weโll be staining those with this as well so everything will match in our babyโs nursery.

Nice quality and easy to use
Very nice quality stain. Easy to use. Was a little darker than expected but otherwise a gorgeous color. Would be lovely for furniture

Good oak match.
The stain linseed oil applies well, and is a decent match on pine boards to oak. Linseed oil is a non toxic finish that remains oily for a few days after application. Apply with a rag, rub on, and let dry overnight. eventually, the finish will harden, to a non oily finish. The tacky mess that was described happens when too much of the product is applied with a brush, or too many coats are applied before the oil gets a chance to dry. Additional coatings can be applied after the product fully dries (usually takes a few days). I would buy this product again.

Good Stuff
Looks very nice on southern yellow pine and is holding up well on my new desk with no additional finishes. Just know it takes a while to cure and will stink up whatever space your project is in so make sure you don't mind the smell of linseed oil.

Sticky Wicket
I NEEDED a no VOC product to use inside in the winter for a few tables, I watched the youtube videos on the application, and yes, I used a tiny amount applied with cheesecloth (where you are thinking this can't be enough), I wiped with the excess off after five minutes, and here I am 3 weeks later on ONE table. I have applied two coats. I used the steel wool in between coats, followed by a tack cloth. This is STILL a sticky mess. I let it sit for a week to cure each time. I am furious with this product and the results. We chose Java, and from the review pictures, I am baffled by their results. I am curious to know how those results occurred. They have coated the products, and those will never dry? Today, I used cheesecloth and applied a little mineral spirits (after googling what to do ) to get the sticky off. It is still sticky!!!! If I could go back, I would buy poison, wait for the weather to be decent & stain outside, and wear a mask - knowing it would DRY - this was a waste of money and time.

Why I liked this food grade stain.
Awesome stain! Made a cover for our built out custom van for the glass top induction stove using all maple and to use it also as a cutting board. So, to match the existing stained butcher block top I found this here and it was perfect. It did take about 6 thin coats but eventually I got it to match pretty darn near! Highly recommend it. It went on alittle thicker than other food grade stains but thatโs not a bad thing.
