Where is this pie iron manufactured?

Hi WendyThey cast in a small sand mold foundry in China and assemble and package in Peoria, IL. They've been in business since 1964 and I've been very happy with their product. :) I hope this helps, Kenda

My family used to own a round pie maker and what they really liked is that it would burn off the edges. Does this do that as well or no?

The square irons are large enough that the normal loaf bread stays inside the edges. We tried some Texas toast which stuck out but every batch delicious!

How do you season the iron to prevent from rusting?

I'm not really sure but I would treat it like a cast iron pan. Also to let you know the size of the iron is Very small. You would not be able to fit a piece of bread in it! I was Very disappointed !

Have you inspected the factory in china, How are the working conditions? Do they use child labor? is it Fair Trade Certified? Thank you. Irene
