MOst Balanced Pencil with only a single fault - the NIB
The pencil on the whole is an excellent piece of work. There is a minor defect that needs to be watched out for.. Achilles heel of this pencil. The NIB. Unprotected and if the pencil falls on this NIB there are very very high chances of the NIB getting bent or damaged rendering the pencil useless.. New 800 + with stylus is the one that has a retractable NIB Otherwise excellent, well balanced, pure metal and one extraordinary piece of design and engineering.

Just a very beautiful pencil . Love writing with it . Although if I have to rethink my decision I would go for .7 mm thickness .

Great pencil but extremely expensive.
Rotring has always been a great product with great quality. It's grip is really good and doesn't hurt your fingers. Weight is well balanced and made of metal completely which makes it look industrial. I would not call it value for money though. Also one con that I found with this is that the metal tip isn't retractable meaning one fall is all it takes to bend it beyond repair. Mine did fall and the top got bent, I had to spend 20 mins trying to get it perfectly straight. If you don't get it perfectly straight, the lead starts scrubbing off the side. Do I recommend it? Yes to the people who can actually afford it and have used for drafting pencil. For others just stick to pentel or some other good brand because they will provide you same value for way less of a price. Scriks is also another brand that has metal body and looks like pentel, but it's not as comfortable but if you haven't used rotring you won't even realise.

Beautiful but for the non retractable tip
The only drawback of this pencil is that the sleeve at the tip is not retractable anday get damaged if it falls. The 800 is prohibitively expensive. A beautiful tool to be enjoyed as a desk pencil. If you don't drop it, it will last you a lifetime and then your kids will fight over who gets it.

One of the best mechanical pencils you could find in the market for this price. Though it's a little heavy since it is made of metal its comfortable to write with for long writing sessions. The knurled grip of this pencil is probably the best for my hands.
