Yamaha Guitar Case

Excellent guitar case with impressive quality and protection! My Yamaha guitar fits perfectly inside with a snug, secure feel. The padding is thick, the zippers are smooth, and the handle feels strong and comfortable to carry. It looks professional while keeping the guitar safe during travel and storage. Worth the money and far better than cheaper cases I’ve owned before. Highly recommended! A++++

This is an incredibly nice case. The guitar fits quite snug. No jiggling around at all. I wanted something made of real wood. This is plywood. Very strong. Just a bit more than the others but well worth it. A classic guitar case that will protect the investment for a long time. If your instrument is twice or more the cost of the case. Buy one. Mine is easily $1600 and I didn't want to risk going for one of the other brands that would have been less expensive. The case did arrive damaged. But I'm working with Seller to see what can be done. Even scuffed up and a missing hinge. I'm keeping it. It traveled all the way around the world being moved from factory to a truck to a ship and then another truck and then stored and moved around since 2023. I understand things can happen. **Update: The seller agreed for a partial refund. I've included photos of the damage and then updated review to show some of the photos of my repairs. For everything I used just plain wood glue. Toothpicks and wood glue to fill the rivet holes. Cut to length screws after installing them and removing them to cut. Tape to hold the ripped cover to hold it tight till the wood glue set. Hot glue to repair the felt that I peeled back to cut the toothpick ends with a razor knife.

I'm a beginner, and ever since purchasing my FG-800 I have been tired of rolling up my guitar in an old blanket, with occasional heart drops when accidentally bumping it against things. The AG1-HC case gives me the peace of mind I have been wanting for that instrument. Make no mistake about it, this case is exactly that: a guitar case. It does not pretend or attempt to be anything else. Sturdily built with tight lockup and a solid feel in either position (open or closed). Standard black and polished/plated brass 3+1 clasp hardware with a distinct lack of branding, a feature that may or may not be advantageous to your particular needs. The interior is lined with black interior plush, as opposed to the red/purple 70s-esque variety of other cases, with a large accessory pocket capable of stocking many packs of strings along with pegwinders, piezo pickups, picks, capos and anything else you could possibly need to carry along with your instrument. The lock is the standard style for guitar cases - a simple skeleton-key lock more intended to ensure one clasp stays locked rather than genuine security of the case's contents. This configuration seems adequate for a bumpy ride in a tour bus or an unstable packing configuration, but not enough to survive airline baggage handlers well-trained in the art of luggage destruction. Guitar fitment (at least for the FG-800) is tight, enough so that I was worried that I may need to remove and stow my strap before closing the lid. This doesn't appear to be the case, as the body of the guitar has a certain degree of "float" to it. Overall, once the case is closed and locked-up there is no motion or play from the guitar within. Overall, I would recommend this case for anyone who is looking to protect their instrument and who prefers first-party solutions. The AG1-HC is a sturdy case with a quality build that fits the bill for protecting instruments worth much more than it.

Very satisfied with the quality of this case. Ordered the acoustic dreadnought case, and it fits my FG700S perfectly (zero movement; snug fit). The neck compartment is large enough where a pack of strings can comfortably sit flat (my Fender dreadnought case I need to keep the pack of strings vertical). Compartment lid feels more solid 4 gold clasp design, with feet on the bottom so the case can sit on the floor vertically or horizontally. Seams all around look perfect. Handle placement leaves the case feeling balanced in the hand with or without a guitar. My only other experience with owning an acoustic hard case has been with Fender’s, and overall I am happier with Yamaha’s case and would recommend it over Fender’s.

I have a lot of Yamaha basses. This case has an okay, generic fit about it, so almost every bass is going to move around some. Better than a gig bag, slim design, but I wouldn't call it roadworthy. By contrast, a Gator TSA-certified cases fit my TRB-6P and Nathan East Signature basses very well and it's a far more robust design for not that much more money.

I guess Yamaha classical guitar dimensions do not change over the many decades. I bought this for a 1971 Yamaha G60-A, and it fits with zero wiggle, zero sliding around. The neck is supported perfectly by a cradle, the headstock is thusly immobilized and will not bang around. The tuning pegs will not hit the sides. It's like this case was *custom* made for my guitar. That's the level of fit I'm talking about. This isn't "almost fits" or "kinda fits," this is "fits perfectly in every way I can think of." A couple of nice touches I'm not used to -- because the fit is so precise, they've left a groove for your fingers all the way in the back, where the bottom of the guitar is, to help you get it out. Similarly, up by the neck brace there's a space to stick your hand in to lift or lower the guitar. Other than that, there is no room for air (this is good) in this case. Again, not a "generic" fit but a *perfect* fit. For the curious, my guitar's measurements. If yours matches this, this case will be a perfect fit for you too. Upper Bout: 11.25 inches Lower Bout: 15.5 inches Overall Length: 39.5 inches Body length: 19 inches Depth (with strings) 5.5 inches at the bridge Bonus - the cargo compartment is big enough to take not just strings and tools, but my tuner too - a boss 12h, not exactly a small piece of kit. This case is made by Access, and it's supposed to be 5-ply woodframe -- This isn't some thin, fragile piece. I almost bought an ABS Gator, but then I thought.. why go for ABS, which can get holed and cracked, and a generic "almost-fits?" I'm glad I found this case. I'll take "fits like it was made for it" over "almost fits" any day. I only found it through research, it was not an obvious or easy find. If you have a Yamaha classical guitar.. you need this. I just got this today, but I"m favorably impressed. No odd smells, either. The craftsmanship and materials look like should last decades. I love that there is no exterior branding, it's no one's business what's in the case. In fact, the only indication of manufacturer is a very discreet "Access" tag just under the door of the cargo compartment. EDIT: I've had this a few days, and have the following observations: The hardware is unbelievably lightweight. It may look like brass, but it's really brass-plated steel. A magnet will stick. My biggest concern is the handle -- the pieces it attaches to aren't quite 2/16ths thick brass-plated steel. The rivets that attach them seem very thin, maybe 1/32, 1/16 at best. I don't know how well it'll stand up to twisting forces, like if you're trying to catch a bus and go into a run, for example. I don't know how well it'll stand up to say, roadies just grabbing the case by the handle and *up you go into the van you go* *WHAM!* A nice touch on this design is there's a tab in the arch of the hasp, and it goes in a slot at the arch of the piece the hasp goes on when you close it. I don't see this popping off at any place until you open it deliberately. I don't think for a second this case or the guitar in it would survive a trip in the belly of an airliner, or live through the way baggage handlers handle baggage. In the cabin, under your own control, sure. But not in the cargo hold. Similarly I would not use this case for road-going shows where you're playing gig after gig after gig. This case is for the home to the classroom to the occasional gig here and there. It's not meant for hard road-going or airplane-hoppin' lifestyles. I would've paid an extra $20 for thicker 100% brass hardware and solid brass rivets. I think this goes without saying, but don't drop the case, don't handle it rough, don't apply twisting forces to the handle.. and inspect the rivets on the handle every week. And as always, carry the case in a way that if the lid opens, it hits your leg instead of dumping your guitar all over the floor. On the other hand, two days with a bluetooth hygrometer/thermometer shows that it's fairly good at keeping constant conditions inside while it's closed and latches dogged down. I'm keeping my 5 star rating. For now. Let's see after 3 years of use.

I have been wanting to buy this case for a while now. It was only $79.99 back then. I should have bought it when it was cheaper. When I finally decided to buy one it was already $110. It was still a good purchase though. I cringed when I saw how they poorly packed it. They just put the case in a typically thin amazon box without a single cushion but luckily there was not a significant damage. There is a negligible scuff but that was it. My Yamaha FS-TA concert guitar fits perfectly. The padding is thick and provides very good protection. It’s a little heavy in my opinion but I think it’s just because it’s a very sturdy case. The exterior looks very nice you would think it costs more. I am very happy with this purchase and my only regret is not buying it sooner. I highly recommend this case for concert style guitars.

Update: It also fits the Yamaha AC series guitars (as you would expect) as well as the Taylor Academy 12. Original Review: I bought a case at Guitar Center and I just wasn't pleased with it. It wasn't particularly well built and it was way more expensive than my other cases. I took it back and ordered this one and it is awesome! It is very sturdy and the price is incredible for the quality. I gig with it multiple times a week and I very pleased with it, compared to the Roadrunner cases I was using on my other guitars. It seems pretty well sealed, since I don't have to add water too often to the in-case humidifier. Size-wise, it's a perfect fit for the Yamaha FS800, 830, etc. as well as the Yamaha AC series guitars and the Taylor Academy 12.
