Quality, affordability, and user friendly.
Upgraded from my Go7 and couldn't be happier. The Simrad Go series is super intuitive, extremely user friendly, and capable of being interfaced with radar, and other devices easily. The large touch screen and brilliant display make charts and echo easy to view in any conditions. Add to this, the Simrad App for your phone and you can easily see why these machines are such a great deal.

Love this chartplotter. Came with C-Maps. Boots up quick, shows engine data with NMEA2000.

Great value chart plotter and sonar.
Simple installation and set up. Very readable screen even with polarized sunglasses. I dash mounted the unit as a replacement for a Raymarine Axiom9 and it fit the existing cutout. I’m very pleased with the quality and price.

Great unit with plenty of features
Been running the Simrad GO9 XSE with the 3-in-1 transducer and it’s been a solid performer. The screen is bright and easy to see even in direct sunlight. Touchscreen response is smooth and the menus are simple to navigate. The sonar is super clear and picks up structure and bait without issue. SideScan and DownScan both work well and give a great look at what’s around the boat. GPS locks on fast and the charting is reliable. For the money, it’s hard to beat what you get out of this unit. Great choice for serious inshore and nearshore fishing.

Nice
Easy installation. The touch screen or maybe just the processor is maybe .5-1 second slow. Works well with the motor I have it installed on and transducer seems pretty accurate

Ordeal solved thanks to SIMRAD
I had one problem after another, none of it was b/c of the unit. I had a Simrad GO 9 on a previous boat I bought used. Loved it. So when I traded for a Yamaha jet boat, I insisted on buying another GO9 to go in it. Bought it and took it to my marine dealership to get it installed properly. The first thing they told me was that the transom mounted transponder would not work reliably b/c of the turbulence created by the jet exhaust. Stands to reason as the Yamaha came with an in-hull transponder. Unfortunately the previous owner had removed the gauge on the dash. I thought that is ok, I will hook up the GO9 to the OEM transponder and view depth on the GO9, which is where I intended to view the depth anyway. Nope, not compatible. So I put a compatible in-hull transponder on my Christmas list and decided to get by for now going by the depth data on the built in chart. Unfortunately when I finally got on the water I found that the chart didn’t show depth data. And it looked to be low resolution, not the HD I had on my previous boat. I contacted Simrad/Navico for help. Boy were they good. Very patient. Explained steps to set it up properly and finally, how to check if I had the proper SD C-Map card installed. It wasn’t. I found the card in the Simrad box. The installer had forgotten to put it in. Simrad has assured me that the chart card will solve all my concerns about the chart data and resolution. Still need the transponder, again , not the fault of Simrad. I give 5* out of 5 to their tech support and I still love the unit.

I selected this Simrad 9" GPS chartplotter to replace the 5" old Garmin combo which I had had for 20 years. In addition to the size which make the reading much easier, this Simrad GPS is fairly user friendly and it is very bright and easy to read, even with a lot of sunshine. It is versatile and offers many connection options. You may even mirror the screen on your mobile phone. Nevertheless, I was disappointed by two things: one, the protection cover is difficult to remove, and it is a bit of a struggle each time. Two, the length of the transducer cable was not sufficient to connect the transducer to the GPS. I had to buy an extension cable which was not easy to find and was very costly. These are the reasons why I removed one star. But overall a good product that I recommend
