Review: Very Good Review: The Good: + Beautifully drawn + Deeper look inside the world of Hyrule during the events of Twilight Princess + Link has a slightly more aggressive personality as a wolf + Minda retains her sassy personality from the game The Bad: - Chapters 14, 15, 16, and 17 probably could have been consolidated down to 2 or 3 chapters - Some parts of the manga has black text on dark backgrounds... The Ugly: I'm flying though these chapters and the wait for the next volumes is borderline torture. What is it? Put simply this is a Legend of Zelda manga based on the the Twilight Princess Story. There are some changes and additives to the story for character development a well as to fill out the story. Story: Volume 2 picks up directly where volume 1 left off. Link awakens bound in a cell within the Twilight Realm. He encounter a mysterious imp Minda who reveals to him that he is a Wolf. Soon after Link and Minda meets up with princess Zelda where she reveals to Link what happened to Hyrule. Overall the Story in this volume is good but the pacing feels a bit off in comparison to the previous volume. Its also feels like they spent too much time developing characters that didn't need much development. Art Style: Man oh man, I loved the art style from volume 1 and Vol.2 seem to improve on that. Replay: A lot has happened in this volume and so I actually had to read it twice to get a better understanding. Actually reading this volume made me go back and read Volume 1 as well. I will probably read them both again while I yearn for volume 3. Value: There is no excuse, If you loved the Legend of Zelda Twilight Princess game you should pick up the manga for $10 once every couple of months. Here is a tip... If you have desertcart Prime it will be even cheaper than that. Thoughts I love this, and there is only a few things that can make this better. 1. they can release volumes more frequently, and more importantly they can make an Anime adaption of this Viz Media can take my paycheck now =D. Regardless I highly recommend this Manga to both Zelda, and Manga fans.

I bought the first volume as I enjoy the story of Twilight Princess, but it's in a difficult-to-access form with the usual problem of the silent protagonist. The first volume proved to be a wonderful take on the story, honoring and expanding upon the narrative I remembered while turning Link into a likeable and not too generic protagonists. One note: to properly understand the events of the second volume, the first volume is compulsory reading. After a short vignette from the point of view of Princess Zelda, the second volume picks up with Link trapped in the Twilight Realm and transformed into a wolf-like form. As Link is a character with personality and dialogue, his interactions with the mysterious Midna are more enjoyable, carrying more bite. The narrative threads from the first volume are given enough progression to stop you from losing sight, but still stand well enough that you can just about understand them. The core narrative drifts closer to what the game was like, with the consequence that some aspects would be akin to overly-accurate fan fiction were it not for the beautiful artwork of Akira Himekawa and the little narrative flourishes that make it rise above its interactive origins. Like the first volume, the story has a suitable climax, with Link's self-doubt as established in the first volume rearing its head once again. Overall the story is good As to the physical book's quality, it's on a par with the first volume. The cover and paper are nice to the touch, the spine holds up well, and the printing is excellent. The translation also doesn't seem to have any glaring errors, preserving the original humor and charm while adapting for an English audience. Those unused to reading translated un-flipped manga will find reading from right-to-left disorienting at first, but you easily get the hang of which speech bubble to read next. All in all, despite the first volume being a requirement for full understanding of the story, this is an excellent product; great story that stays true to its source without being slavishly so, high quality artwork, a physical copy that can hold up to rough handling, and a localization that makes you feel like you are reading the manga without it sounding like an awkward literal translation. A recommended buy not just for Zelda fans, but for manga fans.
