One was a Smith&Wesson M&P 2.0 Compact, the other a Springfield XD-S. Replaced the stock sights on each with Trijicon HD XR sights which I highly recommend as well. Each gun the sights changed out easily. I wasn't expecting a problem from the M&P, but Springfield XD sights are notorious for being very tightly installed and difficult to remove. This pusher made quick work of each set of sights. Set-up is a bit tedious, but that's not an issue unique to this pusher, sight pushers in general require careful set-up to insure the sights slide in and out of the dovetails without canting. Keep a sharpening/honing stone handy in case the sights need any material removed to fit in the slides dovetail.Solidly built tool, made in the USA, and comes in at a price that crushes other name brand sight pushers. Yeah, you can change sights with a hammer and punch, but why risk marring up the slide or damaging tritium tubes (on night sights) when you can spend $80 and do the job right? Most gunsmiths will change in the range of $30+ to install sights, after my first two jobs the tool has almost paid itself off. Benefit being you can now also install sights for others, charge a little cash, and turn a profit....no shortage of guys looking at any local gun store looking for such services.Only improvement I can think of would be for the company to provide two of the pushing blocks. It's cut for straight and angled sights, but the threaded rod that pushes the block against the sight tends to chew into the pushing block itself. If you find yourself changing a variety of differently shaped sights that disfigurement could lead to it marring the sights or not seating against the sight properly. Company should raise the price $2-3 and include an extra block.Conclusion, follow the instructions, take the time to properly position the slide in the frame, "pad the frame" like they recommend and you've got a great tool which will tackle even the toughest sight installations with no damage to your new sights, slide, or gun finish. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Too easy to change the front sight. A great, sturdy product. Worth the price. *by J***L on Reviewed in the United States on November 16, 2016* This sight tool is really easy to use and practically paid for itself the first time I used it. I bought some Meprolight night sights for my Ruger 1911. I only had to use this on the front sight as the rear sight can be adjusted by hand after loosening an allen screw.It arrived in a box with instructions and was oiled up pretty good. It include the instructions and an allen wrench that will work with all adjustment screws. After I wiped it down I got to examine it more closely. It's heavy, and all parts and screws seem pretty sturdy. My only concern was the bottom rods that help to lock down the slide seem pretty weak. They feel like plastic but sound like metal when tapped together. Aluminum perhaps? Not sure but they are the only concern I have though they held strong. Everything else seems to be constructed of heavy grade steel.The instructions recommend using an old credit card between the rod and the slide of your gun to prevent damage. I cut up some pieces of cardboard and taped them on to my pistol slide with masking tape. This didn't leave a mark on my slide or new front sight, which I used a small piece of plastic cut from an old membership card to protect.The only tools I used to adjust my front sight was the included allen wrench and a micrometer used to designate dead center over my barrel. The front sight broke loose with the first turn and getting in the new sight was very easy. I didn't use oil at all on the front sight. This tool pushed the front sight with ease and I never felt them once bite or stick. Within 10 minutes of removing the slide and gauging it with the micrometer I had dead center.Things I wish it had:1. A built in measuring system either etched in to the tool itself or an adjustable built-in measuring device to help you achieve center over your barrel without the need to remove it and measure. Nit picky I know, but it would be a nice addition.Other than that, it paid for itself the first time I used it. I'll keep it in the range bag from now on. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to save a trip to the gunsmith.
