Works great! Made our mulch and flower bed look refresh without buying more mulch

Great product. I usually reapply much every 2 years, pretty much because the color has faded and it starts to look bad. Then I thought, can't I simply dye the mulch just like they do in manufacturing? Then I found this. It's THICK and DENSE. I used a 1 gallon pump sprayer to apply, which works OK but is a hassle for large areas and will kill your back. You can't spray this willy-nilly unless you don't care about overspray. Mixing - easy peasy. Just follow the directions. Application - easy. You can't leave the sprayer once you start, the product will clog up the nozzle, so either do your mulch in sessions, or leave the tip in a cup of water if you've got to leave the unit for a period of time Coverage - soaks into mulch and dry wood REALLY well. I even got the idea to spray some landscape timber we have. It would probably take a few coats to get rid of the splotchyness, but it looks a lot better than it did. This product tends to bead up on most greenery and leaves, which is OK. It will generally wash off with the rain. It does SOAK into wood though, which is why rain won't wash it out of the mulch Cleanup - fine. Plenty of water does the trick. I did maybe 3-4 sessions of 1-2 hours of application (3-4 gallons each) and cleaned the sprayer entirely after every application. Just plenty of water through the whole thing. Storage - make sure you tightly cover the container. Even then the cap tends to cement to the bottle due to the presence of the product. I have a LOT of mulched area and this half gallon will probably allow me to do the area twice before it runs out. One thing's for sure, it looks a LOT better than faded mulch, and it's a LOT cheaper than doing a dress coat of mulch (just for color).

I used this product to restore the brown mulch I have in my front yard. It did an amazing job. The color is deep and dark and really made my sun faded mulch look brand new again. Application was fairly easy with the yard sprayer. I would recommend using cardboard to shield plants and around the perimeter of the mulch otherwise you will have undesired stains. I would recommend using gloves during the application process. I do wish a measuring cup was provided. Overall, this was much easier than laying down new mulch and it was a lot cheaper as well, and probably more eco-friendly. It saved me from several trips to the hardware store picking up bags upon bags of mulch. For my yard it took me about 2 hours to apply, partly due to the sprayer I was using. The sprayer I used kept clogging but I just taped the nozzle and readjusted the spray pattern and that seemed to troubleshoot the issue.

I am very pleased with this product. I have a large wooded area behind my house and about the first 20 feet of it are like one big flowerbed—way too much to mulch. I mulched all along the edge about 2-3 back and then I used this colorant to color the SOIL so that the unmulched area of light-colored soil no longer looks so starkly different from the mulched area. The first of my photos shows before I used the colorant, and the second photo is after. Of course, colored soil does not look exactly the same as colored mulch—but I think the color is far more uniform than it was before I used the colorant. The third photo is a flower bed in my front yard where I just dug out some old bushes and planted several new plants and used some fresh mulch in part of the flower bed. I used the colorant to color the old mulch to match the new. So It all looks pretty uniform now. Next time I will use laytex (or some other water proof) gloves that I use for painting to keep the colorant off my hands. (But it did wash off my hands pretty well). I got it on myself as I tried to clear the clogged sprayer nozzle. The colorant is fairly thick and clogs the sprayer nozzle. I am going to need to find a different sprayer approach for that. But I still like this product and will continue to use it. I do wish it was less expensive. Also, as I used it, I found my self wishing the seller made it in green because I would like to spray some parts of my grass! I do recommend this product.

This stuff is great. I have gone to replacing my mulch every other year or so. Makes everything look like new. I purchased and sprayed everything at the beginning of the summer and its October in Ga. and it still looks great.

This product exceeded my expectations. It was perfect to refresh our mulch so we didn’t have to put fresh mulch down.

Usually dont write reviews but this one deserves it. A little goes a long way. A third covered all my mulch. Makes a pretty noticeable color difference. Maybe 75% like new. Clean up of my sprayer was quick and easy. Glad to at least put off for a couple year the never ending money pit of mulching my flower beds.
