There is less of a mess on my floor, but if you buy the more expensive bird seed the larger pieces won't fit through. I have to take a chopstick and force it through. Another problem that I have is that my bird eats with its head over it and the tiny pieces of shell stay in the trough. There needs to be some type of screen or holes to allow that to sift through. Another problem we have is that I had to put a perch in front of it because this thing is just too small for my 2 month old cockatiel. ### ⭐ OMG don't do it do not buy this! *by M***C on March 16, 2017* Do not I said do not I mean do not buy this product this thing is horrific to put together and of course I broke a part trying to piece it together it is the worst the worst let me tell you very very very worst product I have ever purchased in my life!!! I did not mention the instructions to put this thing together they're a freaking picture .. a picture of 20 clear plastic pieces with no written instruction whatsoever it's a pathetic puzzle and let me tell you if you buy this good luck with you and shame on you! Well that must be a tiny tiny cockatiel because I purchased this feeder for my White Bellied Caique anc there is no way she would even fit in it. But it is a good feeder system. After a 1 hour puzzle session trying to put it together ( luckally I like puzzles) u saw just how small it was. If you are not patient then do not get this feeder. Not a bad feeder for very small birds. So I gave it to my Canaries.
