Why should players be 18 and older?

The game is written with eight characters; however, additional people can play as "background" characters. They won't have scripted lines, but could ask questions of the scripted characters, etc. They could also make assumptions. They can be assigned roles by the host/hostess to partake in the fun - such as detective, witness, neighbor, etc. There's no limit to what you can adapt. Just have fun with it!

I'm interested in throwing a murder mystery party but I have no experience. Is this a good first kit or is there something else that would be better?
