A very nice alternative to chest strap monitors
I always struggle with the chest monitor either I forget to put it on or struggle in getting good consistent readings. The arm band from Polar is working great so far. I linked it to my garmin fenix 6 to get better readings than the wrist monitor while bike riding or in the gym. Its probably not quite as accurate as the chest strap but the fact this it way easier to use and more consistent is a big win for me. My heart rate readings are much more sonsistent now across rides and easier to track. The Polar app is not great - I installed it but its not adding anything to my workouts so use the data through the Garmin app. Battery life has been good so far - I received one low battery warning in about 3 weeks.

A great arm worn HR monitor to pair with my Polar watch.
The TL-DR is, i've only used this paired to my watch for almost 2 years with no issues, and I get good quality data. I haven't used it stand alone, or paired to the Flow App on my phone to record sessions. I have been happily using my verity sense HR band for almost 2 years now paired with my Polar (grit x pro) watch. I've also used it with my Polar Pacer Pro. In that time I've tracked just under 6,000 miles of running HR data and a lot of hours of strength training, mobility, and bike riding. I've had two bad readings in that time and both were my fault. Over all I'd say this is great value for money. The strap adjusts to my skinny runners arms, and it can get pretty long too for huge forearms. I'm a heavy user of this device and i'm a fitness professional who runs and works out every day. I came back to look at this device as I was thinking of getting another one for my wife, and a new strap for my sensor. I'm still on the original strap, and its holding up very well. If you are looking at the low star reviews, then I can see most are for people using the strap with their phone or some other cardio equipment. I've never tried that so I cant comment on that use case. I've compared the Verity Sense to my H10 and it's pretty close, I've also got a really good feel for my HR levels so I know its giving me good data, if it didn't then I'd not use it as wrong data is much worse than no data. I don't have much success with the optical HR data on the watches, as it tends to lock to my cadence from time to time. The Verity Sense is placed just below the elbow joint on my forearm and seems to work very well there. As usual with all optical HR sensors, there's a 15-30 second lag, so don't plan to use it for accurate readings while doing short intervals. That is where you need the H10 or other ECG device. Battery life is good. I get somewhere around 20-ish hours over a week of use. Now that Polar have the loop band I also use that for all day wear, and take it off when I'm using my Polar watch and Verity Sense combo, between the two I get HR (and lots of other data) readings 24/7 with no noticeable drops. Hope this helps with your choice.

Android app(s) make it worthless.
I wanted this product for three reasons. In descending order of importance: 1) To connect to my Concept2 rowing machine and their Ergdata app so I could do heart rate zone training. 2) To wear when I was lifting or walking my dogs to monitor how many calories I burned. 3) To wear around all day and see how my heart rate fluctuated/how many calories I burned/steps I took. I remembered the chest straps being somewhat cumbersome from when I worked at a gym like 20 years ago. And I'd read that the wrist monitors/smartwatches didn't work well for rowing. So I went with the Verity Sense. While it was comfortable and did fulfill function #1 well, connecting easily with the rowing machine and the app and giving what seemed to be accurate readings, it was an utter failure otherwise. A) Polar has two Android apps, Polar Beat and Polar Flow. There's no indication of which one to choose - one was made later, while the other was updated more recently. Only through a response to a negative review on the app store did a developer say that all effort is being put into Polar Flow. B) Either way, neither app works. They constantly disconnect at random times, then tell you that some other app is using the monitor, even if you have no other apps open (and yes the rowing machine is off/in a different room). If you turn the device on and off, and close and reopen the app you may get a connection after 5-10 minutes. C) Worse, there's no notification of this disconnection, so enjoy having only half of a workout tracked, or not tracking your daily activity for 8 hours. D) The apps lacks any feature for daily tracking, instead you have to choose an activity from a list of ~600. Also there's no way to quickly peruse calories per day. (The log feature only shows max HR and time.) Overall, the terrible functionality of their software caused me to put in a return for this product and steer clear of Polar in the future. I would urge them to hire more competent developers. Having apps that don't work renders the device unusable and not worth the high price.

My favorite HR monitor โ comfortable, reliable, and chest-strap free
Iโve used several heart rate monitors over the years, and the Polar Verity Sense is easily my favorite. The biggest benefit for me is not having to wear a chest strap anymore. I find chest straps uncomfortable and restrictive, especially during longer sessions โ they tend to feel tight and distracting after a while. Wearing the Verity Sense on my arm is a game-changer. Itโs lightweight, barely noticeable, and stays in place securely throughout my runs and bike rides. The readings have been accurate and consistent across all my workouts. One downside is that the battery doesnโt last as long as a traditional chest strap HR monitor, but itโs rechargeable, which makes up for it. Iโve also tried using it under my swim goggles, but it puts too much pressure on my head, so I avoid it for swim sessions. This is actually my second time buying it โ I liked it that much. If you want a reliable HRM without the hassle of a chest strap, this is a fantastic option.

Good accuracy; More comfortable than a chest strap
I've been using a Polar H10 chest strap to record my runs for a couple of years now, but don't really like wearing a chest strap for workouts. Both the Verity Sense Optical Arm Band and the H10 chest strap are vastly more accurate than just using the optical sensor on the Polar watch I pair them with (I suspect this would be true for just about any watch-based sensor but I can't claim to have tried other brands). I'm pleased with the VS arm band's comfort relative to the chest strap; and the fact that it is nearly as accurate is enough for me to switch to the arm band for most of my workouts. I tested them both simultaneously on a couple of workouts after I bought the arm band and was pleased with the results for normal runs and even my typical interval training. I posted the comparison charts I made when I wore both. The H10 responds more quickly. The optical arm band lags the H10 (real HR?) by about 10 seconds, but it was just as accurate in aggregate - unless you need feedback that is nearly instant. Also, I find the arm band a bit less finicky too. The chest strap will "lose the signal" for me on occasion and I'll have to reposition it. In 4 months this hasn't happened with the VS arm band more than once or twice. It does occasionally go slightly off (+/- 10 bpm error) like it did at the end of the sprint interval workout chart I posted, but even this I find rare - certainly less often than with the H10 . You can see the H10 didn't respond for part of the first stride I did near the end of the long run workout as well as for over a minute during the warm up phase at the beginning of the sprint interval workout. During the sprint interval workout, the arm band did miss the peaks. These were nearly all-out sprints though. For anything less than an all-out sprint with arms pumping hard I find the arm band does not miss the heart rate peak. I'm happy to use it for my more regular interval workouts where I'm not going all out. The battery has been great. It lasts for at least a couple weeks worth of workouts (that's maybe 10 workouts x 50 minutes on average) and I probably charge it before I need to more often than not.

Works perfectly and very easy to wear and use.
Very lightweight. When used on your upper arm you will forget its there. No problems with bluetooth linking with an Android phone with the Polar app. Always connects fine, no drops. Storage (download) function also works great for using it without a phone. It will sync later when connected and upload that session to the cloud. The PC app also works well; all the cloud data appears there too. Only one minor issue is rapid phone battery drain while on. I forgot and left mine on for 5 hours and drained it to 36%. Had a Polar chest strap before and this works with way less hassle. Not going back.

Excellent HRM
I use this primarily for indoor and outdoor cycling. I'd normally be okay just using the heart rate data on my watch, but things get a little weird when you're trying to cross ecosystems and sometimes it's easier to avoid that extra pain. For example, if you have an Apple Watch, you can get your heart rate, GPS data, etc in Apple Health and Strava, but if you are using a Garmin device (like my Edge 1050 bike computer), Garmin won't export GPS data to Apple, and it won't import Apple's heart rate data to Garmin Connect. Add some additional complexity (because of course I do), and this Polar HRM becomes a great device to have so that I have heart rate data regardless of what I'm doing, and both Garmin and Apple will integrate that data into workouts. So what I'm currently using it for: -- Outdoor cycling. After adding it as a sensor to my Garmin Edge 1050, the Garmin stores all HRM data along with GPS data, speed and cadence sensors, etc. and syncs my rides with Garmin Connect. Garmin Connect then syncs all of this data to Strava and Cannondale (the latter I use to track usage on all of my bikes so I know when it's time to service them) and to Apple Health. -- Indoor cycling. I'm using a Wahoo Kickr Core 2 with Zwift Ride frame and running Zwift for indoor cycling workouts. The Polar HRM connects automatically to the Kickr which then acts as a bridge to send that data along with everything else to Zwift (and then of course, on to Garmin Connect and Apple Health). Occasionally I'll also use it for walks but there's no major benefit to it compared to the Apple Watch in that case, and since I'm already wearing my watch, that's what I generally use. The app is okay, it seems like it's reasonably full featured, but I personally don't use it because everything is already going to other services like Garmin, Apple Health, and Strava. And if you start your activity on another app (as I always do), the data won't be visible in the Polar app, so really I only keep it around for firmware updates. Battery life seems really good for a sensor this small, usually after 2-3 sessions of an hour or so each, the light turns yellow suggesting that the battery charge has dipped below the 80% mark. I've never really tested it below that. It does require an adapter to charge, which is fine I suppose, but I have to be careful because I have a tendency to lose things, and the adapter is about the size of a quarter.

Mixed review, difficult to recommend.
I have used the Polar Sense now for over 4 months. I weight train 4 days a week, HIT class 4 days a week, and swim 1000m 5 days a week. The bluetooth has been intermittent since new so I just log my data and download it when I'm done. I wear it on my forearm and it works well during weight training and HIT classes. During my swims it stops recording my heart rate randomly during a workout once a week on average - very frustrating. I've tried several things to get it more consistent and the outcome is the same. I would not recommend for swimming.

Un vero MUST HAVE ma bisogna informarsi bene sullโautonomia
I Punti Deboli โข Lieve Ritardo (Lag): Come tutti i sensori ottici, impiega qualche secondo in piรน rispetto a una fascia toracica (ECG) a rilevare i picchi improvvisi durante gli scatti (HIIT). Inoltre, calcola distanza e andatura in piscina automaticamente.

Comfortable to wear and accurate
The arm strap is much more comfortable than the chest strap. Polar is leading in HR measurement. My wrist measurement is about 30bpm off.
