DonJoy Performance Bionic Knee Brace (Black, Large)

This knee brace is top notch! I recently had some knee issues and purchased this brace to wear on a long trip and through airport security -it was easy peasy! This brace provides the best stability and comfort. It’s easy on and off with wide velcro straps. I dont think my trip would’ve been as smooth as it was without this brace. Only wish is that I would’ve sized up because my knee was very swollen and could’ve used a little extra room. Overall, I would definitely purchase this brand again.

A friend of mine that is a physical therapist recommended to get a Don Joy brace. I got this one. One on it is comfortable and very firm. It is about twice the thickness of a similar brace I purchased a while ago. I think the extra thickness contributes to the firmness and stability as well the comfort. I would easily get another one. My only positive that isn't positive is that it's a bit of pain to get on compared to other braces. I feel like I need another hand or someone else to do it. It is mostly the nature of the brace, but a bit the location of the velcro. But once it is one it is very comfortable and seems to protect the knee.

If you are looking for a general knee brace for minor injuries and are not 100% sure what to get, this is one of the better options on Amazon. It is a much better quality than any of the cheaper quality “performance braces” and it’s a good value for the money spent. I tore my PCL 15 years ago, elected not to do surgery at the time (I was about 20), but now experience medial patella luxation. I bought this to replace my favorite performance brace until I can get a custom one, so I really didn’t want to spend over $100 while I wait to be fitted for my custom brace. Pros: 1) Not bulky, light weight, fairly comfortable. 2) I am able to run and maneuver flawlessly at high speeds without being held back by this knee brace. 3) I feel pretty stable while running on uneven surfaces without pain caused by the brace. 4) The hinges so far move smoothly - I beat my braces up and train on dirt surfaces. Cons: 1) The placement of the velcro for the wrap aspect of this brace is definitely awkward, making it difficult to put on especially if you plan to use it for your left knee. 2) Most knee brace sizing says that if you are borderline for their sizing guide - size up. This is not the case with this brace. I sized up and have regretted that decision. 3) For some reason they have added a “stash pocket” which they thought was a cool idea, but just seems silly and awkward in my opinion. Overall: not a bad brace for the money, but definitely not ideal for me.

Diagnosis: fractured medial meniscus I had to stop running and most gym activities and stick to cycling and rowing. After a period of 'no sport' while I waited for the delivery (which was flawless) I started gradual reahabilitation with the brace. No pain, no discomfort, after 5 or 10km run at 5:10 to 5:30 pace the knee feels as if I'd just woken up and got out of bed - fresh and ready for another run. The only issue is that the brace is not side specific - it happens that when it's used on the right knee you can accidentaly unstrap it during the run. Also in some places adjustments need to be made to cover the tiny places where hard plastic velcro stuck out from beneath the soft material. Other than that no issues whatsoever, a great piece of equipment that put me back on track.

It does provide good support and stays in place well with movement. I recommend ordering a size up. I took the measurements as instructed and it fits but it does not fit well, also the velcro pads are not the same shape which leaves an open patch of velcro to rub on the side of my knee. This issue may be remedied if I ordered the next size up and didn't have to stretch it so much for it to fit. The issue only occurs when I bend my knee 90 degrees. It'll due the intended job, I just need it for occassional support during recovery periods. Overpriced by a lot if you ask me.

Very supportive to knee best brace I've owned

Product is way heavy for knee ! It tells you take measurements! Which I did, comes in smaller then it suppose to !

My son used the DonJoy knee brace that his trainer loaned him during football season for a minor injury. It worked so well during the season that we ordered one for him to use at home as he trains for baseball season. Easy to put on, remove, offers stability while allowing free movement.

Using sizing instructions was straightforward. Size close to upper limit, but selected. Slightly concerned a little small but ok in the end, needing straps to support the velcro. Used for skiing as prev ACL repair, and functioned well

Bulkier and heavier than I expected Seems okay so far. Need to get use to it a bit more but adds the support to help keep stabilized

I followed the sizing instructions and was too small. Then I had to pay to return it. Please read the return instructions before ordering. I would not buy from this company again due to paying for my return.

This product is very cumbersome and does not fit properly. I have made to efforts to return it and have not received any response from the manufacturer with regard to returning it. I am very disappointed with the manufacturer and Amazon for not assisting me with returning the item. I buy alot of items from Amazon and am considering closing my account.
