It replaced my defective Goodman CONT2P40024V AC relay. This saved me over $150, and it was easy to replace. Remember safety first and remove all power source to your AC / heating unit before you do any work. Got it in two days with no issues.

Bench checked it right out of the box, as this will be a standby replacement part. It works just as it should. Looks like a high quality contactor. I've had pretty good luck with BOJACK capacitors as well.

My AC2 unit stopped blowing cold air, so I checked the outdoor 3 ton condenser. Both the fan and compressor were not running. The existing 40A magnetic contactor showed clear signs of failure — burnt terminals and a strong burnt plastic/metal smell. I ordered two of these BOJACK 40A 24VAC contactors since they’re inexpensive and it’s always good to have a spare for multi unit homes. When I manually pressed the contactor with an insulated screwdriver, the fan and compressor kicked on, confirming the high voltage side was fine. I installed the new contactor, but the system still wouldn’t run. After further troubleshooting, I discovered the AHU furnace control board had failed and wasn’t sending the 24VAC signal to energize the contactor coil. Once I replaced the furnace module, everything came back online and the AC is cooling again. The contactor itself is solid, affordable, and a great part to keep on hand for quick repairs.

This Contactor is for backup only. I just used my current back-up about 3 weeks ago. Check your A/C unit outside to get the infor off your existing Contactor. Always have a back-up Contactor and Cap.

After this winter, my Nest displayed an E103 error code, indicating an issue with the Y1 wire. If you are certain that the wiring has not been altered, the next step is to check the resistance of the contactor (around 10 Ω) and the capacitor (as marked on the label, mine is 40/5). My contactor was short-circuited, and the ac unit worked again after I changed it. It will be better to watch videos on YouTube, which is very helpful. Also, make sure you take some photos to prevent incorrect wiring, and shut down the power before you do anything. I didn't even get quotes from other electricians, but I can imagine how much they would try to charge me. So, it's definitely worth.

Excellent part. My original HVAC contactor was a single pole. But to build more reliability i replaced the single pole contactor with a double poles. It fit perfectly in the same spot and didn't have to modify the back support plate to anchor the double poles contactor. The condenser unit is working perfectly after the installation.
