Amazon Basics Hard Travel Carrying Case for 5 Inch GPS, Black

I was debating between getting the Garmin brand carry case for my new Garmin GPS or the Amazon generic one. I went with the Amazon and boy am I glad I did! The Garmin seemed to just be a pocket where you slide in the GPS device and the device only. The Amazon carrying case holds not only my GPS device, but the USB connector AND the car charger as well! All the materials fit in the one carry case. In addition, this case zips closed. You don't have to worry about the prodcut falling out. Finally, it is cheaper than the Garmin while giving you the above added benefits. The one con is I wouldn't call it a "hard" carrying case. It is reinforced, but not a "hard" shell. It would be enough for an accidental drop, but I wouldn't chance someone stepping on it. Overall I'd say this is very worth the price and definitely better than the name brand carrying case.

Took a chance and ordered this case for my new Garmin Nuvi 50. Overall I am pretty happy with it. The GPS (the case is designed for 5" screen GPS units) fits perfectly and snug and isn't likely to come out. There is also plenty of room for the charger. The case zips closed and the case itself is pretty sturdy. Wouldn't call it a "hard" case but it's not soft either. Somewhere in the middle and I feel it would protect the GPS unit pretty well from a fall. The only negative I have about the case (which is minor so I still gave it a 5 star review) is that the case does not open fully. It opens about half way because of two "bands" on either side that prevent it from fully opening. I suppose you could cut the two bands and let it open fully if you needed to. It does open enough to fit everything in though, but if you have large hands, it makes it a little tougher to get the GPS unit out.

I bought this case to protect my new vehicle GPS unit (a Garmin Nuvii). When not using the GPS, I place it in the center console between the front bucket seats of my vehicle. Other items also get stuffed into the console so I needed something to keep the screen of the GPS unit from getting scratched. The case certainly does that. It is a hard case and provides excellent protection. The Garmin GPS unit (a 5 inch Nuvii) fits in the case perfectly. The only downside to the case is that it makes a fairly large GPS unit even larger when fitting into a vehicle console. It is a workable solution for my Toyota RAV4, but might be more problematic for other vehicles (if you want to put other stuff in as well). If all you are using the console storage areas (or glove boxes) is for the GPS unit, then you would not have a problem (unless you have a really small glove box). I recommend this case, but with the reservation that you confirm that there is adequate space where you intend to keep the encased GPS unit.

This is a great, affordable, protective case for larger GPS units. Having recently picked up a Garmin 2555LMT unit, I went on the hunt for some form of protective case, as we will be moving it among three vehicles between my wife and myself. it's not a Pelican case, but I don't expect it to be, especially for such a great price. It feels very well made, all the stitching is well done, there are no outside seams, and the zipper is a good density (not so coarse as to be hard to use, but not so fine that it would be susceptible to damage). It is roomy enough that it easily stores the 2555LMT and its somewhat bulky Traffic-enabling power cable. The windshield mount obviously won't fit, but that doesn't matter as much to us. Time will tell in terms of wear and tear, and I'll update this review if anything crops up, but I would definitely not hesitate to pick up another one of these cases, should the need arise.

Bought to hold my 5-inch Garmin GPS. The GPS unit with ball socket attached fits nicely into the mesh pocket located in the cover, keeping it from rattling around. The power cord easily coils up on the other side. The windshield mount doesn't quite fit due to the diameter of the suction cup base and a lack of space once the other two components are in the case. This is your typical semi-hard case good for protection from miscellaneous dings in the car or your suitcase, and it makes it easy to carry the GPS from one place to another. Might or might not protect against sitting on it, and definitely not if it's stepped or driven on. It's what I expected, the price was right, and I think it'll do the job nicely. This is my sixth or seventh AmazonBasics purchase, and I've been happy with all of them so far.

The case The more I try Amazon Basics products the more I'm impressed. From HDMI cables, USB Hubs and cases they never disappoint. What is more, the products trump many competitive products costing far more. Strong, dependable and great build quality, the case was purchased for my Garmin Nuvi 52LM which has turned out to be the best, most dependable and non problematic GPS I've owned. Some nice touches are: * Rigid outer shell * Tight weave nylon cover * Great steel, self locking zipper * Top and bottom inner straps keeps the unit stable * High density cushion foam interior. Occasionally, I'll carry a small external drive in this case, such Passport by Western Digital which makes this case quite versatile for other uses as well. I'm also a fan of the Frustration Free packaging, it's a great alternative to having to use a buzz saw to get those hard plastic product casings off - not to mention they're better for he environment. Certainly for the price, you'll be hard pressed to find this level of quality at twice the price, let alone under ten bucks. And of course with a PRIME membership you get FREE two day shipping to boot. Making this deal just that much sweeter. Highly Recommended

Just to give everyone a heads-up this case is firm, not hard, and a bit too big if you are space conscious. When originally purchasing this case I didn't pay attention to the dimensions so when it came I was a bit surprised, but overall I'm happy with it. The construction and quality seem good so far. The case has a pocket on one side where you can slide gps unit in and a large main compartment space where the power cord can fit. One tip is to face the screen away from the main compartment to reduce the chance of it getting scratched by the cord. The compartment is not large enough to fit the cord and mount, but you can easily carry the mount without a case or if you have multiple mounts then you can easily use this case for storage when transporting it from vehicle to vehicle. The case is not hard but it's good enough in most situations. If you're worried about heavy objects being dropped on it or...perhaps someone jumping on it then it's probably best to look elsewhere.

This case is very high quality in materials and craftsmanship as well as attractive in appearance. You can slide your thin GPS [mine is a Garmin nuvi 2597LMT] into an internal slot for it and then add your cords or other attachments into the larger compartment. The zipper slides fairly easily to open and close so accessibility is great. However, the shell has a middle [ not soft; not hard ] level hardness to it so it will not tolerate dropping anything heavy onto it without doing SOME damage to a GPS device. As long as you don't work in construction where you leave it around to have heavy objects dropped on this item, it should be more than adequate to protect / contain your device. The great thing about this product is that it is very useful if you are transporting the GPS as well as electrical attachments, and plugs. If you are only carrying the GPS itself around, there are slimmer cases just for that purpose. I have an a leather case for just such a purpose if I only want to take my GPS and not the cord. I really enjoy / like this product and its very handy to keep my GPS in a compact and attractive place tucked away when its not lingering in my Jeep. I highly recommend this particular product. Hay que poner en perspectiva lo que cuesta esta funda y lo que ofrece. En mi caso con oferta prime por unos 7€ no puedo estar más satisfecho. Tiene buenos acabados y está bien diseñada. Es una funda grande, semirrígida con forro suave interno. La mitad inferior es más profunda, suficiente para alojar un navegador de los que llevan el soporte incorporado tipo TomTom Start 25. La mitad superior tiene una parte de tela elástica que hace de bolsillo para los cables. En mi caso (Tom Tom Go) el soporte/base de carga lo dejo colocado en el coche y me llevo sólo el navegador. En este caso la mitad inferior le queda muy holgada y el navegador va dando tumbos en el interior. Por esta razón lo coloco dentro del bolsillo donde queda bien sujeto con el elástico. Para mayor seguridad he puesto un cojín de joyería en la otra mitad como relleno. No me convence la goma elástica que une las dos tapas. Entiendo que da seguridad para evitar que se abra completa y se deslice el navegador. El tiempo lo dirá pero quizá termino cortando.

Tirette de qualité, deux coques préformées assurent la forme de l'étui avec une bonne hauteur et garanti la protection du GPS à l'intérieur. Une pochette intérieure est même prévue en plus. Bref, un beau produit bien conçu et de belle qualité pour un prix tout doux. BRAVO AMAZON

Die Hülle habe ich für mein Garmin nüvi 57LMT Navigationsgerät (lebenslange Kartenupdates, Premium Verkehrsfunklizenz, 12,7cm (5 Zoll) Touchscreen) gekauft. Das passt perfekt in die eine Seite auf der sich die Netztasche befindet, auf der anderen Seite ist noch Platz für Kabel, Bedienungsanleitung und den Befestigungsclip. So hat man immer alles zusammen und vergisst auch nichts.Ich denke auch das die Hülle ein guten Schutz gegen Stürze bildet, ausprobiert habe ich es nocht nicht aber den Eindruck macht sie. Dazu ist sie noch klein und Handlich und passt in jeden Rucksack, Handtasche oder in jedes Handschuchfach. Zu einem Preis um die 10 Euro uneingeschränkte Weiterempfehlung.
