E-03442 Impact Premier Mag Boost

Neat little gadget that I didn't realise I needed! Definitely makes some magnet improvement over standard magnetised bits. Its small size does not get in the way at all and the durability has so far been good with very little wear after a fair bit of use. Very good value for money, I'll be buying more for my other Makita drivers

I saw this recommended in a newsletter I receive and thought I would give it a try, as it was only a fiver. It arrived and was much smaller than I had expected but it works well. It slides over normal size screwdrivers, almost pulling itself on (see my video), and when in place your screwdriver channels the magnetism to hold most screws in place on the end of it. Really nifty piece of kit, which really comes into its own when you have an awkward spot to drive in a screw, or remove a screw and not drop it once it's out). Really tiny, too, so easy to pop in your toolbox or pocket (and equally easy to misplace, of course!).

Never had once of these before and I find it very useful when using steel screws, even if a little expensive.

Compact durable works really well, a handy thing to have in your drill case.

This was purchased to replace an old tired magnetic bit holder. The one it replaces is from another well known power tool company. The difference however is night and day, the magnetic pull this little device creates is on a different level, I threw it into a small box of screws and almost lost it as the screws surrounded it sticking tight. A very good item at very little cost. Hope it lasts as long as the one it replaces. Well worth the money, thoroughly recommended

Does what it says it does, the magnet is strong enough for bigger screws, I tried up to 5mm x 100mm screws and it seems to hold well. The only downside is that it covers most of a 50mm impact bit, so if you need to see where the tip of the bit is, then you'll either need to try longer bits, or a different solution. Update: Used this a few times now, but found that on a 50mm bit, it covers most of it, so if you are screwing into a recess, the Mag Boost gets in the way. Longer bits would probably work better, but they are more expensive, and not worth the faff. I have gone back to a Wera Impaktor bit holder and standard size impaktor bits.

This adds a lot of magnet power but you need to have the right type of bits otherwise it is a really bad fit. I tend to use the impact ones that are quite thinner in the middle part and it is not a good fit with this. You need to use the ones that have the hex part all the way and it will do wonders.

Works great. I was considering the regular Makita magnet adapter but after seeing it's poor durability I decided to spend the extra money for this. So far it's been money well spent. I do think it's still a bit overpriced but in comparison to everything else that's out there – this is definitely it! I've tried other magnetizer and magnet adapters and this has by far been the strongest, simplest, and most durable (so far). Easy enough to install/remove. Has a nice fit on my bits and Klein Hex extension (as an aside if you pair this with Klein's extensions with the 1/4 socket for standard 1/4 bits it actually magnetizes the bits through the extension – just enough to keep the screw attached for easier installing/removing.) Awsome way to magnetize Klein 1/4 hex adapter and a couple of their other sockets!
