The box has footprints on it and one end was busted open. Half of the screws were missing, likely because of the broken box. The product would be significantly better if the pivot points were metal, not plastic. The mounting system (plastic pivot base) shifts forward and backward and will only mount to gunwales that are flat. If your gunwales are angled (normally in custom boats) you will need to purchase swiveling mounts or add a shim.
