Nice for refining social skills
For most of the book, it kind of felt like it didn't really tell me or teach me anything I didn't already know or suspect about people and my ability to read them. What it did do was introduce me to a few new different ways of interpreting people's behavior, a few ways of possibly spotting lies (even though I already knew to listen to my intuition), and sort of help reaffirm the things that I already knew. But I think probably the most transformative and beneficial thing about the book was that it felt like an invitation to, instead of being afraid of people or assuming the worst about them or what they think of me, to instead be genuinely curious about them. And when you're genuinely curious about people, it's pretty hard to be afraid of them. I can be fairly neurotic most of the time, so I misinterpret different people's body language and facial expressions as being indifferent or hostile. But reading this book and really thinking about how people's body language works not only gives me the tools to see evidence that this proves my neuroticism, It helps me to become more genuinely curious about people. But also sort of acted like a mirror to see what my own body language might be communicating to people. How to be more aware of my own body language and see where it might be helping me or hurting me. For those who are socially clueless, this book is not a magic bullet that's going to allow you to just be able to tell everything about a person by looking at them or to keep you from being manipulated or rejected. But it gives you a lot of clues and tips that can help point you in the right direction to better refine how you express yourself and how to better understand others more deeply and more quickly.

ok
"Read People Like a Book: How to Analyze, Understand, and Predict People’s Emotions, Thoughts, Intentions, and Behaviors (How to be More Likable and Charismatic)" offers an insightful exploration into the realm of human behavior, but it falls short of delivering a truly comprehensive guide. The book's strength lies in its attempt to demystify the intricacies of interpersonal dynamics. The author makes a commendable effort to break down the nuances of reading people, offering practical tips and strategies. The content is accessible, making it suitable for readers who are new to the subject. However, the promise of understanding and predicting people's emotions, thoughts, intentions, and behaviors is a lofty one, and the book struggles to fully deliver on this ambitious goal. While there are valuable nuggets of wisdom scattered throughout, the depth of analysis often feels lacking. Some concepts are presented in a superficial manner, leaving the reader craving more detailed insights and real-world examples. Additionally, the title suggests a focus on enhancing likability and charisma, but the practical applications for achieving these qualities are somewhat limited. More concrete advice on improving social skills and fostering genuine connections would have been beneficial. The writing style is straightforward, but at times, it lacks the engaging and dynamic quality that could have brought the subject matter to life. The book could benefit from a more engaging narrative to keep readers consistently intrigued. In conclusion, "Read People Like a Book" is a decent introduction to the art of understanding human behavior, but it doesn't fully live up to its ambitious title. While there are valuable takeaways, the lack of depth and a somewhat underwhelming exploration of likability and charisma leave room for improvement. It's a three-star read that provides a foundation but falls short of being a definitive guide in the realm of interpersonal insight.

Very interesting
Great read, very interesting, and extremely insightful. Although it’s a paperback, the book has a strong front and back cover. It’s a weird point I know! But the reason why for me this is important is because I’ve revue d books in the post in the past, and by the time they’re arrived they’re been in terrible condition, but not this one! I would recommend as it’s good value, does the job, can’t go wrong.

really insightful
Although we may all have experienced situations in which people involuntarily disclosed their inner thoughts and values, it’s much more difficult to systematically analyze all the bits and pieces of their behavior and collect them to a meaningful picture. This book provides a number of hints how to solve this puzzle. A nice read.
