This is by far a revolutionary tool that takes ALL the frustration out of removing slotted grip bushings on 1911's. It will safely remove bushings that have been over-tightened, Loctited, or staked into place. I found it easy to use and none of mine required any heat to soften the old loctite that typically causes big problems. I was left with bushings that were in perfect condition that could have been easily re-used but I replaced them with the Challis Hex Bushings that incorporate both bushing and grip screw o-rings... a far superior improvement over the traditional and now outdated slotted style.And the bonus is, If you have ANY questions, call them and you will be talking to either Brian Challis, the fellow who invented the system, or his son Nate. Both are great guys who are always more than happy to help out. They can even customize their tools and parts if your 1911 has any special need, like they did with bushings and a specialty slotted torque screwdriver they did for me. It doesn't get any better than this, people!!!I am just another happy customer. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I use both the slim sized and full sized models of the Challis bushing extractor *by P***E on Reviewed in the United States on July 30, 2019* The slim sized bushing extractor not only worked great on removing the bushing, but it also works great installing slim sized bushings.The full sized bushing extractor also worked great on removing bushings. On one gun, the gunsmith used Loctite 271 and staked the bushing. (Staking is a technique that was used before the invention of thread locking compounds. It essentially enlarges the bushing after it is installed in the frame.) Heat quickly loosened the Loctite, but since the bushing was also staked, it was very difficult to remove using a standard screwdriver. In fact, the only thing a standard screwdriver did was buggered the screw head. It could not remove the bushing. So I purchased the Challis extractor, and even though the bushing had a buggered screw head, the Challis easily removed the bushing. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Awesome 1911 Bushing Remover *by M***X on Reviewed in the United States on November 8, 2017* I've been working on 1911s for years and I can't count the number of grip bushings that have caused me to have an RCF (Raging Cuss Fit). This tool is awesome. It works perfectly. I removed staked bushings from 10 Colts in a matter of minutes with no damage to the frame or bushings. Typically at least 1/2 are a pain and a good amount of those end up destroyed.
