GKI AF9894 Air Filter

The filter media itself is good. But the filter has no foam rubber gasket and the filter was a bit too wide for my application. Because there was no gasket I had to trim the filter to fit. I'll avoid this brand in the future.

I’ve used GKI products before and they usually they come in a branded package. This one came in a plain white box with no logo just a part number and no name or logo on the filter. It did fit but as you can see in the pictures it’s a little bit thicker than the Mazda part made by denso.The material looks very similar to the original a synthetic fibre. I drove around the last few days and seems ok but it’s new so we’ll see in a few years how the car performs with some mileage. Price is about $10-$20 less than the denso depending where you purchase. I was going to buy the K&N but that’s over $80! Mind you it’s supposed to be a lifetime filter. Shipping took over a week.
