Review: It solved a most annoying issue. - I have everything tied into my AV system, AppleTV, blu-ray player, PlayStation, laserdisc player, and yes, even my desktop computer. Most everything works fine without any hiccups except one major annoyance. If I bump, breathe on, or even slightly warm my trackpad with my body heat, the CEC will switch everything over to the computer and I have to wait a full minute before switching back to what ever I was watching/playing. I can’t toggle off CEC on the computer, I can turn it off on the receiver but that means I’m back to using four different remotes. That’s where this sturdy little adapter comes in. I plug it into the HDMI out of the desktop and run the regular cord into the HDMI from it to the receiver, and bingo! No more accidental wakes from looking at the trackpad wrong or if on of the cats steps on the keyboard. It’s a simple thing but it saved me from a huge headache. I haven’t seen any detriment to audio or video. Everything comes through just as it did before but without the CEC controls. So if you have a device or two that is causing you grief with their over zealous CEC protocols, pick up some of these handy adapters. I have some extras on hand for any future problems.

**Q: Did not work with my Soundbar or Sound System?**
A: ARC + Soundbar --> please use the CEC adapter on all other input devices (PS4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, etc.) but NOT on the soundbar connection. Soundbar without ARC --> A CEC adapter can be used with any HDMI connection to fix CEC issues

**Q: I ordered this adapter to correct an issue with HDMI/CEC & ARC. Which end do I place the adapter?**
A: Please connect the CEC adapter between the TV and all your other inputs like Apple TV and gaming console. NOTE: The CEC adapter should NOT be used on the ARC + Soundbar connection. CEC adapter can be placed at either end.

**Q: With CEC blocked, will ARC and eARC still work?**
A: In order for ARC and eARC to work, please make sure to NOT have the CEC adapter between the ARC port on the TV and the soundbar connection. The CEC adapter should only be used for other HDMI inputs such as Apple TV, gaming consoles, and cable boxes.

**Q: Does this adapter still allow 4K pass thru?**

I have all my devices connected to a Yamaha RX-V4A receiver. Was running into an issue with my PS5 automatically cutting on every time I turned the Chromecast on. Super annoying! This resolved the issue thankfully. Only thing that stinks about it is now when I turn the PS5 on the receiver doesn’t automatically switch inputs, which I already knew with research. But I’ll gladly take that issue over the other!
