This was a replacement to a burner. I opted for this cast iron version so I could more even heat. It works perfectly for cooking. The only two down sides are that it stays hot a long time after I've turned it off. But, that is the phonomenum of cast ìron. The other thing is that the burner top has circular grooves into the plate it of the burner, which makes it hard to clean. Over all, it's been a great burner.

Works somewhat. I just had to learn its "personality" but seems to work on a low power level while adjusted on #5 setting. Just have to be patient and understand that I doesn't cool down quickly so somethings will continue to cook even while this unit is unplugged .

Pretty cool however the top stays mega hot for a long time in which could start a fire if you’re not careful. Otherwise it’s quick and easy to use and great for travel or for camping etc. highly recommended and the price is great for the outstanding quality and the sturdy build.

I really like this burner. It's sleek, very small foot print with a 7"~ burner. The disk I assume is cast iron. Even at full blast I was unable to get a rolling boil with a 8" pan with 2" of water in belly. I was hoping to use as a wok flame, but no chance. For sauces, it is awesome. The price is so inexpensive, it's perfect for sauces, but don't expect to stiry fry, uhh, anything, no how, no way. I'd send it back knowing its weakness, that weakness is the cast disk on top. A coil would do much better. I love how slim it is, so it's no my sauce pan. FYI, I put a trigger temp guage on it, on it's plate it will hit 600 degrees, but carote granite, t-fal (anodized), and cuisine art stainless, no boil, put in some oil on cuisine art stainless she boils water, barely. Maybe a smile, but never anything more. You want a sauce pan, she's perfect, but if you want to reduce to sauce or hard boil, just isn't gonna happen. I will keep her but for slow simmer sauce. I really wanted a harder hitter, but well its less than 20 bones, so, yeah, there is that. Fit and finish is sweet, well made, even if it is China. Luck and care,

It arrived on time & in perfect condition (March 3rd) but I just tested it yesterday to have time clearing out the chemical smell when first heating it up. It gets really hot pretty quickly & takes as while to cool off because it’s cast iron (it says 30 minutes in the manual & that’s exactly how long it took which is fine because I can do other things) so I recommend some good silicone heat resistant pads (I used those to keep the table safe). It’s a bit heavy which was surprising to me but it’s not too big & easy to store away. The cord is a bit short but I can get an extension cord & it’s not too easy to wipe off (maybe it’s the cloth I used) but it’s fine. Hopefully it’ll last long because I love the convenience with it being portable. Thank you!

This Ovente solid cast iron single burner is working out just fine for me. It's well made and designed with style and functionality in mind. I use it primarily as a coffee cup warmer because I like my coffee kept HOT not lukewarm, and frankly there's nothing out there that will do this better. It's also nice looking and made with quality materials. The nice feature about cast iron burners is that once they get hot (takes about a minute) they keep a more even temperature. While morning coffee cup warming is my primary use, I also have used this for cooking outside and this works fine as an auxiliary stovetop. Although my cooking uses have been more slow-and-low, this can sear a steak with no problem. So far, I love it!

PROS: It looks nice and seems well made - heavy but not overly so - it doesn't slide around easily when being used. The enclosed iron cooking surface makes cleaning easier. MY USE RESULTS: This hotplate takes a long time to heat up and once it does the heat does not seem consistent. I didn't expect results you'd get from a regular cookstove but I did expect better than what this gives. My last "project" was two pieces of cube steak using the highest setting. Zero "sizzle", if you looked close you could see slight signs it was frying but extremely slowly. When I eventually flipped the cube steak it was as though I'd put it into a barely warm pan of oil. It seems to turn itself off and then have to completely reheat to get back up to the temperature set. Previously I tried to fry two hamburgers - those that you cook from a frozen state. Forget that. I put them in the hot oil which immediately cooled and left them sitting in, again, a barely warm pan of oil. I ended up having to broil them in the oven. I'm not sure this inconsistent heating and cooling while trying to cook is even safe. This hot plate may be okay for some things but in my opinion forget actually frying anything. My opinion is it may be okay for keeping something already hot warm (not hot, but literally warm) but not for proper frying. I've used other Ovente products without issue but this one was a disappointment. I can't recommend this hotplate.

Es una estufa eléctrica muy práctica, de muy buena apariencia y que cumple su función perfectamente. Muy satisfecha con mi compra, y el precio que pagué por ella.

If you need to boil water to actually sanitize/disinfect water, go with something else. It’s got an element, but the wires used to connect it to the wall outlet are bottlenecking the energy transfer, so any decent amount of water in any reasonabley sized pot will never boil. If you felt like rewirijg it, it’s a matter of removing 1 compression nut from a threaded rod off the bottom and the entire thing flies open.

Ocupa poco espacio, se ve bien en la cocina y calienta muy bien

La parrilla es bonita y robusta para ser una eléctrica portátil. La use con una sartén de hierro fundío y no da el calor suficiente para este tipo de sartén, ciertamente no es una parrilla para cocinar de manera consistente pero si le reste una ⭐ por no dar la potencia suficiente con el hierro.

Es un producto muy bueno, calienta uniforme, fácil de limpiar, no afecta a la instalación eléctrica (no se nota el bajón de corriente eléctrica) y fácil de guardar por su tamaño compacto.
