Good quality equipment for a very good price.
The beauty of this product is that it has everything you need in the box to set it up and get shooting. The price point is also very good for what you get. A lot of reviewers describe this as "entry level" or "beginner" but I happen to think that this diminishes the quality and capability of what you are getting right out of the box. If you are in the market for a compound bow, don't want to spend an arm and a leg, and you are going to be using it for everyday target shooting or hunting, this product is perfectly suitable for those endeavors. Unless you are a competitive archer or such, this should be sufficient for the vast majority of people. The Good: . Price is reasonable . Build quality is good - it doesn't feel like a toy or super cheap . It has everything you need to get loosing off, right out of the box The Neutral . Some of the accessories are not necessarily the best but this comes down to personal preference. I ordered the following per my personal needs: - a different arrow rest/whisker biscuit. - 12 extra arrows and some hunting arrow heads. - A range finder to aid with sighting in - A cheap arrow quiver - A 4 finger release to replace the wrist release that it comes with. The Needs Improvement . I didn't think much of the included instructions, and the online instructions were identical with no more detail. You really need to do your own googling and Youtube if you need instructions or a guide to tuning the bow and installing accessories. They do provide instructions on increasing the draw weight and changing the draw length, but that's about it. You're on your own for installing accessories, sighting in the sight, and fine tuning. So be aware, this is not a toy and does require some research for beginners with compound bows or bows generally, or adult supervision for teens/children. Overall I am very satisfied.

Outstanding Value and Quality for Beginners and Beyond!
As someone who shot Hoyt recurve bows for over 30 years, I was initially skeptical about trying a compound bow, especially one at the budget-friendly price of the Sanlida Dragon X8. But after reading positive reviews, I decided to give it a shot—and I’m so glad I did! The Dragon X8 far exceeded my expectations. The build quality is impressive, especially considering the $199 price tag. The bow comes with everything you need to start shooting, and all the components are solid and reliable. The sight, for example, performs much better than you’d expect for this price range, holding its own against higher-end models. Even as a complete beginner to compound archery, I was able to shoot with surprising accuracy right out of the box. The bow is smooth, forgiving, and feels great in the hand. It’s the perfect choice for anyone new to compound archery or looking for a quality bow without spending a fortune. To top it off, Sanlida’s customer support is exceptional—quick, helpful, and always ready to answer questions. This bow made me confident enough to eventually upgrade to their Hero 10 II, but I still recommend the Dragon X8 for its unbeatable value and performance. Whether you’re starting out or looking for a budget-friendly option, the Dragon X8 is a fantastic choice. Highly recommend!

Solid Beginner Bow with Excellent Adjustability, but Some Quality Concerns
This is my first bow, and so far I’ve been enjoying it. I wanted to get into archery and eventually hunting for a long time, but after rotator cuff surgery, my shoulder has never been the same. Because of that, adjustability was a major factor in my decision. Expectations Before Purchase I was looking for a ready-to-hunt (RTH) bow that was easy to assemble and, most importantly, allowed me to adjust draw length and draw weight as my shoulder strength improves. I also wanted something beginner-friendly without needing to buy a lot of extra accessories. First Impressions Out of the box, everything was included, which was a big plus. The bow truly is RTH, and assembly was straightforward. The overall quality felt solid for the price. Real-World Experience One of the main reasons I chose the X8 was the ability to easily adjust draw length and weight, and it delivers on that. This has been especially important for me given my shoulder limitations. Despite seeing some negative reviews on Amazon, several trusted YouTube reviewers I follow had positive experiences, which ultimately convinced me to give this bow a chance. Challenges / Issues There are a few downsides worth mentioning: The instructions are not easy to follow, including the video on Sanlida’s website. Thankfully, YouTube tutorials helped a lot. The quick release became my biggest issue—it started freezing up after just a few days. The arrows feel inexpensive, and the fletching arrived bent due to poor packaging. After roughly 30 shots, the strings began to fray, which was disappointing. How It Met My Needs Despite these issues, the bow itself does what I need it to do. The adjustability makes it beginner-friendly and forgiving for someone recovering from shoulder surgery, and that alone makes it worthwhile for me. Final Recommendation Overall, this is a good starter bow, especially for beginners or anyone who needs flexibility in draw weight due to injury or strength limitations. Be prepared to rely on YouTube for setup help, and you may want to upgrade some accessories early on. To the team at Sanlida — I’m open to reviewing future products and would be happy to provide feedback.

A nice bow
I bought this bow last year and have no complaints. I purchased a bare bow and supplied my own accessories since I already had them, meaning I cannot attest to any of the provided arrows, rest, sight, etc provided in the kit version of this bow. I'm sure they are just fine and would function as intended given the quality of the bow itself. The arrows I use are 400 spine gold tip carbon arrows cut to fit my draw length. The fact that you can do all the work on this bow yourself without the need of a bow press was a huge reason I decided to try this bow out. You simply back out the limb bolts, then you are free to change your string or cables, tie in a peep sight, tune your cams, etc. My old bow is a single cam PSE bow madness (2014 or 2015) and I love it and still shoot it. HOWEVER, I don't consider this Sanlida bow to be a downgrade whatsoever. It shoots just as fast, and has a nice let off at full draw. The feel is different, but not in a bad way. It is a very comfortable and quiet bow to shoot. Accuracy is consistent. It is a very lightweight and short bow meaning that it is not as forgiving as some other bows. Once sighted in, mine has not needed any adjustment even after not being shot for the winter and spring months. I did not use this bow for hunting last year, however I have no doubt of its capability to take a deer, and I plan to use it this season. I have been shooting compound bow for over 20 years, if that means anything to anyone. This is a good bow for the price, and I'm glad I took a chance on it. Update: I have been hunting with this bow this season and had no problems taking a whitetail buck.

decent bow but ..
I will revise this after I get it all set up and put some arrows through it. My first impression is the bow is well constructed but the accessories and instructions are not good at all. I come from 20 years of recurve bow as a reference. I have serious doubts that the included arrows are 500.. They feel very weak. the bow should clearly say what draw weight and draw length they ship with. You cant make accurate adjustments without knowing your starting point. The instructions are my biggest complaint.. Seriously if you are going to market this bow for beginners you need a good instruction and installation manual. The ad here on Amazon says that you dont need a bow press to make weight adjustments and then the flimsy instruction flier dedicates 2 full pages to using a bow press to adjust weight.. Im not saying this bow is bad but its definitely in need of better instructions. Im also not thrilled with the quiver installation instructions.. theres nothing in the set manual at all on that and the downloadable pdf I found in the Amazon ad is pretty useless. .. also made complicated by a defective quiver mount I received. .The piece that should rotate needs a vice grip to move.. I hope with some breaking in it will improve. Havent shot the bow yet but will add more review when I do. Updating May 31..If I could drop a star more for lack of customer service I would. They responded to me but really just gave me lip service . "Our DragonX8 RTH kits, which include a set of 12 , are priced at an unbeatable value of $199.99. It's a competitive price that reflects our commitment to providing high-quality products at the best possible value. Please understand that at this price point, we are operating at the thinnest of margins, essentially offering these kits at cost to ensure our customers receive the best deal. Many customers will upgrade their own accessories to suit their needs. In order to provide better after-sales service for your purchased products, please search Sanlidaoutdoor online and fill in the warranty form. Upon submission, we will initiate the after-sales service process on your behalf" They missed the point though that if you have to buy better arrows to make the most of their bow its not really costing you $199. . I have since replaced the arrows with easton 2016 Lite arrows and good quality carbons. I replaced the release. The release sent was not reliable at draw which was very dangerous. The arrows that were sent with the bow were not good at all out of any of my bows. Buyer beware, you will probably be replacing much of their included kit. This manufacturer really could take more time to listen to its customers. Theres no excuse for a lack of adequate clear instructions and sub par accessories. The bow itself is a good bow....but they really miss the mark on the instructions and gear and really thats a huge liability since this bow will be used largely by novices. Update July 2025, I have been shooting this bow now for a while and its been performing well however did have the peep sight go flying off on me. Not really sure why but I guess it wasn't tied in well.

Sanlida X8
The bow was packaged very well and all pieces were there. I haven't had a chance to shoot it but for the dollar I don't think you could get a better deal. It appears to be well made, easy to adjust draw length and weight with the tool supplied. Looking forward to takin it out.

The bow is worth it
The bow itself is great worth the buy. All the accessories are pretty junk except the release, quiver and sights. I replaced arrows, arrow rest, limb savers. The release is not too great either. I'd recommend buying the bow and adding your own accessories. But after sighting in it shoots very tight groups and is pretty quiet. Drawback is smooth and shoots excellent.
