I live in a country with 220v.** A: I live in Norway where we have 220v and i bought a 75ft 110v outdoor extension cord and i have it connected to a LiteFuze 300w up down transformer in my farm storehouse and it works fine ;) **Q: Is a 10 AMP extension cord safe for the BK-80D unit?** A: You probably can use a 100 ft 16 but 14 would be a little better. Check the information on the extension cord you intend to use and check the 100 ft cord to be sure it carries the amps and watts the zapper requires. Electricity travels over long distances better on heavier wire. If you try the 100/16 and it works well and does not blow a circuit breaker it will probably be OK but that is not a guarantee. I would not plug the zapper into a circuit that has a heavy load on it like a refrigerator or air conditioner. If the zapper is out in the elements be sure to tape the plugs that are exposed to water with electrical tape. Each situation is different but check to be sure you don't have extra heat when you touch the cord or the plugs. If you follow the information on the extension cord and the zapper you will have a safe setup. **Q: Can this be used to kill flies? I am out of mosquitoes in my patio, but flies are really taking the food away.** A: I just bought the 1 acre model and it kills house flies like a dream! Not sure why people are stating it's not. Kills them inside and outside. **Q: What voltage is required by this unit? 110-220v?** A: The BK-80 has a three conductor power cord and three-prong grounding type plugs to fit the proper grounding type receptacle for ONLY 110 to 120 volts alternating current application. It is NOT intended for 220 volts alternating current use. It must use the three prong receptacle application. Two prong to three prong adapters are not recommended.
