Is this easier than using a curling wand? Will it actually save time and effort?

It's a lot easier and curls are more even than using a wand. The curls also last soooo much longer. I love it!

BEST CURLING IRON EVER! It does have a fairly easy learning curve....I have waist length hair.....thick and naturally curly. I like to control the curls...YES it WILL curl long hair {take thinner chunks of hair at a time to curl}.... I have managed to get curls close to my scalp by curling half the top length then the bottom half.....

What should i put on my hair after using this curler to protect my hair from damaged?

You should put a heat protector on your hair BEFORE using the curler. It's fine to use something after, but critical to use it before as well. There's dozens of them. I prefer something in an oil form, like Paul Mitchell's "Skinny".
