About 3 Summers ago, we started having really bad horse flies/black flies and they were very annoying and stung us everywhere. We live close to a pond so our yard is very moist and humid - which the flies looove. I was desperate for something to help us, and I found these fly trap bags. They work AMAZING. We still have a few flies bugging us at the beginning of Summer when it's very humid outside, but after that, we have NONe which is amazing. We can now enjoy being outside all Summer. I have 3 bags outside right now and two are basically full, one is a week old (the one where you can see the light brown water). The ones that are dark are full of flies!!! It's crazy!! The bags stink a LOT though but we put them about 50 feet from our house so I can't smell them when I'm on my deck and in my yard! How far away from the bag is it noticeable?** A: When you first start to use them you will really be aware of the smell. But it dissipates over time. I wouldn’t put them near the open window of a home. But we have used several cycles of them and noticed a marked difference in our fly problem. It does take a couple rounds of the bags to really see a difference, but they truly work. Definitely worth putting up with the stink **Q: Does this work on horse flies?** A: This will not work on Horse-flies. They are not attracted to smells. But for all other flies it works great! **Q: Can you use this inside? I dont care about the smell.** A: I don't see why you couldn't use it inside if you have a fly problem. Initially I don't notice a smell until the bag gets full of hundreds of flies. typically the mfgr. used some type of rotted meat for the attractant but I don't notice a smell there either. **Q: If it rains is it okay?** A: Rain causes no issue with the effectiveness of this product. We just took down the first bag to dispose of it today. This 2 weeks and 1 day of use and it was full of dead flies and maggots too! It rained significantly multiple occasions over the last two weeks while this bag was up.
