You can't be rescued if you can't be seen!
Hopefully we never have to use these dye markers. We fish off the alaskan coast, out of site of land. The ocean is vast and the water cold. A 20' dye patch in the water is easier for coast guard to spot then a single bobbing head. Small and easy to attach to our PFD, along with a water activated light, just simple insurance for a quicker discovery and hopefully a rescue.

Good but over priced
Good but over priced for the size. Go to army navy surplus and purchase the bigger bag version for cheaper and works better.

Highly recommended
If you're out in the ocean and need to be spotted from the air during the day this is a must have. Experience is being expressed. Plane was able to spot and radio the location when boat was completely dead, zero power, radio or GPS. Dye pack saved the day 60 miles off shore.

Leaked within a few days on our dive trip
Bought this for a scuba live-aboard trip in the Maldives. My friend and I each kept one in the pocket of our BCD. Luckily, I put mine in a ziplock bag as BOTH of them began leaking dye within the first few days of the trip. My friend did not put hers in a baggie and dye got all over her gear and the boat. While this is a great idea in theory, this product does not deliver.
