Great quality lentils for cooking
I bought these Laila Red Split Lentils to make dhal and they worked perfectly. The lentils cook well and break down nicely, giving a really good texture for the dish. The 2kg bag is great value and lasts a long time if you cook with lentils regularly. The quality seems very good and they tasted great in the final dish. Overall, a great pantry staple and ideal if you like making homemade dhal

I recommend it.
These have a good expiry date. I use them to make lentil tofu: soak 1 cup for 8 hours, then blend with 2 cups of water, a bit of stevia/homemade date paste and nutritional yeast. Cook on the hob until thick, then pour into a food container and refrigerate overnight. The next day, cut into cubes and air fry for 15 minutes. They are also perfect for Crockpot curry: combine 1 cup red split lentils, 3 cups water, garlic, ginger, onion, turmeric, 1 chili (or flakes), 1 tbsp date paste and 1 tbsp nutritional yeast. Pressure cook for 10 minutes. Also works great for making lentil bread.

Excellent quality and value
Excellent value for adding protein into soups and other dishes these split lentils cook within minutes in boiling water or can be soaked overnight in cold water drained and used in baking.

These are lentils; not split lentils
Perhaps it’s my batch but these are just lentils; they’re not split lentils. The latter shouldn’t take long to cook; the ones I buy from the supermarket take about 15 minutes to achieve that purée texture. These took over an hour to cook. Unimpressed.
