Best Protien For My Daily Coffee
I looked at the ingredients for so many whey protein isolate products which had a ton of extra BS no one asked for: Artificial surgars OR That vague "Natural Flavors" no one knows what it actually is. So I was super excited when I found this. YES, it's a little more than what I'd like to pay for about 2 weeks worth of supplies, but my OH MY!! Chef's kiss!! I drink it with my daily regular hot coffee which makes it a "profee" mocha every morning. I add the powder w/some cinnamon in a coffee cup then pour my coffee over it. I LOVE IT and look forward to it every morning- It makes my coffee creamy and All I do it stir!! No, blending or frothing needed. It does separate a Lil though. (I keep a spoon next to me to stir here & there.)10 out of 10 recommend. It's the peferct amount of chocolate and sweetness with 20 grams of protein and only 120 cal. #Winning

Tested 4 full sugar protein powders
I tested 4 chocolate protein shakes. All of these have real sugar, no artificial sweeteners (including the "natural" sugar replacements). I'll be testing them for: 1. dissolvability in water, 2. taste in water when warm, 3. taste in water when cold 4. ability to prep in advance RESULTS! 1. Opportuniteas Grass-Fed Whey Protein Isolate Chocolate 2. Hemp Yeah! Plant Protein Blend Chocolate (ORGANIC!) 3. Vega Plant-Based Protein Dark Chocolate 4. Naked Whey Chocolate 1. Opportuniteas' mix is honestly the best of the group. It tastes like Carnation Breakfast Essentials. It doesn't taste like a protein shake. It's one that I don't mind drinking and wouldn't have to screw up my courage to do so. Gluten free, non-GMO. 2. Hemp Yeah! Was honestly the most surprising result, with similar results to Opportuniteas' mix. It was more bland, and I would be reaching for something to help the taste, such as more cocoa powder or peanutbutter powder. Really great option for people who want organic, cannot drink dairy, or are vegan. It does need to be refrigerated after opening. Highest amount of fiber of the group (4g). Organic, non-GMO, vegan, made with wind-power. Most expensive per serving. 3. Vega's mix was not great. It gelled strangely and created a ball of mix suspended in the glass if you let it sit for longer than 5 minutes. Vegan, gluten-free, non-GMO, protein is sources from North America. 4. Naked Whey was the one I was most excited for, and most disappointed by. It doesn't come in smaller containers, and you must buy a 5lb jar to try it (expensive try). It was salty, gritty, didn't fully dissolve with hand-shaking, and foamed oddly with mixing. Has a sulfur after-taste that was just plain bad. Highest amount of protein per serving. Dairy sources from California, non-GMO, gluten-free. Cheapest per serving.

OMG an actually delicious protein powder!
UPDATE: I have now tried both the Coffee and Chocolate flavors. The coffee variety tastes just like... well... coffee. It's unsweetened so if you want it sweet you'll have to add something to sweeten it up. I have found that mixing one scoop of the coffee and one scoop of the chocolate is delicious! Unfortunately the packaging has now omitted how many scoops to use. It's two scoops, loosely scooped (don't compact it). ORIGINAL: Friends, I have tried so many protein powders. Everyone seems paleo-obsessed the last few years, and so every protein powder seems targeted to that market, sweetened with things like stevia extract and monk fruit extract. I use the word "sweetened" loosely because all of these highly processed "natural" sweeteners have terrible, bitter aftertastes. These might taste good the moment you first drink them, but then the bitter aftertaste lingers and lingers (and lingers)... bleh. I had resolved to just use unflavored powder, but that was a little underwhelming. What I really wanted to find was a flavored protein powder with quality ingredients, which could satisfy my sweet cravings while supporting my workout regimen. And I am telling you, this is it. It's SO good. I mix it with some unsweetened vanilla almond milk and it's just super delicious. Only 8 ounces of almond milk with two scoops of this stuff blended really well froths up and fills up a pint glass, and after drinking that I feel super satisfied, especially if I also eat some fruit or crunchy veggies along with it. It does use sugar, a little less than two teaspoons per serving (there's more than double that in a mere half cup of ice cream), so if you're cutting out sugar totally for any reason this might not work for you, and you'll want to limit how much you have in a day if you're watching sugar intake. But for me, it's: *chef's kiss* I'm looking forward to experimenting with the chocolate flavor and adding fruit, nut butters, and other stuff to the mix. But just on its own it's a great, quick, reliably delicious shot of protein, and for me a super satisfying replacement for dessert.

Pros & Cons to this brand
Update: still have not been able to return any of the bad packs. I’ve probably purchased anywhere from 30 to 40 of their protein packs of chocolate. I order two packs every couple weeks-month. I do love their small ingredient list. The chocolate flavor is the best although sometimes they come and it’s almost like static like in the powder and I just opened a new one and it has a cinnamon weird taste does not taste like normal so sometimes the flavoring is not consistent and the way the protein powder looks too, overall I continue to purchase from them even though you can’t return anything (which is not good business) when you have an issue but because of the small ingredient list which is good I take the chance and order from them. I’m a frequent purchaser of their chocolate flavor which is decently good, the vanilla is not good at all, it does not shake well it’s almost foamy like and then five seconds later is very watery. And the flavor is weird almost chemically processed flavor. I do not recommend the vanilla. It’s also VERY unfortunate that you cannot return this product to Amazon and if you try to return it to this company, you have to send a message and I still have not heard back yet, that’s very unfortunate Business behavior. I highly recommend “checking the fine print first” on returns before you purchase with them. I would like to get my money back on this vanilla. There is a lot more affordable options for protein out there but I chose this one because I like their small ingredient list but to have an issue with the protein and not be able to return it with spending so much money on it does not seem right.

Give it a go
I have mixed emotions, but I'm trying to be fair here and give four stars because the pros so outweigh the cons. It does mix well with a blender (ninja blast here), but it gets frothy as many have said. It also separates fairly quickly (like on my drive to work), so be prepared to give it a few shakes before drinking. The bag does not tell you how many ounces of liquid to use with two scoops, so we winged it. Tried it with water, 2 percent milk (trying to get son to try it), skim milk and even with my trusted Bolthouse Farms Chocolate Protein smoothie. The latter is what it was almost undetectable in. Skim milk to me was the best if you're going for as little additional ingredients as possible. I hate bananas, but I tolerate them for the potassium and such, so I put half in with 6 ounces skim milk, a healthy tablespoon of chia seeds, a small splash of vanilla, one teaspoon raw cacao and drank that. No you don't taste a milkshake. Anyone saying that is better than me, but it is palatable. I have another protein from Garden of Life (Lightly Sweet, the only one with just cane sugar), and it's got a lot more vitamins and minerals, but it tastes green. I use raw cacao, a tiny bit of cane sugar and fifty fifty water and skim milk in that too similar effect. The Bolthouse Farms Chocolate Protein is good in place of the milk here. Either way, if you can afford the price of this brand, give it a go. I think you'll be satisfied with your purchase so long as you don't mind using an actual blender. I believe every review here that says it doesn't blend well by just shaking.

Most excellent tasting protein powder on the market
Absolutely the best protein powder on the market. I have tried so many and this one by far is the most excellent tasting. Will continue to be buying it for years.

Nice, Carb-full Protein Mix
I have used this two days in a row now and I have to say, it’s really good. It has more of a dark chocolate taste to it because it’s low in sugar (only like 8g) but it’s not chalky and grainy. I mix this only using my blender and I always weigh and place the powder on top of 8oz of whole milk. It blends well but like any other protein or drink mix powder, it will stick if you put it on the bottom of your cup and then add the liquid. I definitely would not recommend using water because I don’t feel that it will taste good. The milk keeps is so creamy. If you don’t like dark chocolate, add a little hot cocoa mix to it to even out the dark unless you’re watching your carbs, unlike me. Also, the serving size is 30g or one scoop. I have weighed my protein powder and it’s like one scoop is about 30g. So you could probably get 30 servings instead of 15 servings if you weighed the powder. I think a lot of people are finding issues with dissolving because it’s too much protein powder to liquid. On a side note, if you have a severe wheat allergy like I do, or tree nut/peanut allergies, this seems very safe as I did not react to it. Gluten free isn’t always allergen free but this is great for those with severe food allergies like myself.

Tastes Great!
This is the first protein powder I have actually liked! I hate the taste of artificial sweeteners so I looked for one made with real sugar. I just got it and put a serving in the blender with water and ice. It’s so good! It was smooth and tastes great. It’s not super sweet, which I like. I’m so glad I finally found one I can drink without gagging.
