YoLink Relay, Smart Switch, YoLink 1/4 Mile Super Long Range Smart Relay Compatible with Alexa, Google, and IFTTT, Max. 5 amps - Hub Required

YoLink customer support is first class, and their products are improving all the time!!! I originally purchased a YL5705 switch. I didn't really like it. It felt cheap, and it had an annoying red light on the switch that couldn't be turned off. After 2 years, the switch stopped working. I contacted YoLink customer support, just hoping for a way to reset, or fix the switch. Within 4 hours they replied, asking for my address to send me a new replacement switch, even though I was out of warranty. The 5705 is out of production, so they sent me the upgraded 5708. This new switch is superior in every way. In my original review for the 5705 (I'll leave it posted below for posterity), I complained that it felt cheap, and it had an annoying LED light that couldn't be turned off. They addressed both issues with the new version. This new switch feels much more sturdy and well built. Even the "click" feels more substantial than the old one. They also included the ability to turn off the LED inside the switch itself via the app. This switch also has 2 smaller buttons at the top that can be used to operate other devices remotely. I currently have 2 Kasa brand switches in other parts of my house that operate outside flood lights. When I'm in my basement, and want to turn them on, I use the app on my phone. Both are about to be replaced with YoLink switches so I'll be able to operate both of those switches without having to use my phone. This is really nice when things go bump in the night, and you don't want to wait on an app to load!!! Currently, I'm at 27 different YoLink devices, not including the 2 switches I'm about to order. For the most part, they have all functioned flawlessly, and the couple of issues I've had were handled by YoLink customer support immediately. I have several thermometers monitoring not only my refrigerator, but 2 freezers, plus an outside sensor. I have door and window sensors, including one on my mailbox, and several leak detectors strategically located near my water heater and my HVAC. Last spring, the one near my water heater let me know that I had a leak, and likely saved me from a lot of water damage! YoLink devices absolutely rock! Original review below... First, let me say I'm a huge fan of YoLink devices. I have 18 sensors and alarms around my house. I purchased this switch to go with a motion detector. The motion detector was less than stellar, and I left a review for that. The YoLink switch replaced a similar Kasa brand smart switch. The YoLink switch is decent, but not quite as nice as the Kasa switch. It installed easy enough, and is SUPER easy to link to your app. The overall feel of the switch itself is simply a little cheaper than what I'm used to, when comparing it to Kasa. The part I do not like however, is the red light in the switch button when the switch is off. This switch is in my basement, so I can live with it, however, I will not be adding these to my living room or kitchen until something is done about that light. It looks cheap, and its bright when the room is dark. I understand that some folks might want a way to find the switch in the dark, but I'm not a fan. Perhaps if YoLink added a way to control that red light from the app? Overall, not a bad product, but it could use some refining.

This review is for YS5716-UC relay switch. This thing is tiny! I was able to fit it into a duplex steel wall switch box which had conduit connected to it. The smart wall switch which Yolink has (and I have several of them) would not fit into this old-timey box, so the relay switch to the rescue!! And it is cheaper than the wall switch. I can't wait to come up with other places to install it! Binding with a QR code just works before I can get the code into focus on the phone, it has already found it and waiting for me to type information into the app. I highly recommend this for those hard to reach areas.

I decided to give the YoLink light switches a try after purchasing a Yolink hub and flood sensors a few months earlier. I needed to replace some much older motion sensor/light switch combos that only worked with incandescent bulbs. Of all the options I looked at, these were by far the best value and I liked the wide range of products that work together with the same hub and app. Initially I was looking at Zwave or Zigbee products but decided on YoLink after comparing prices and doing the math. Most of the YoLink devices can be paired together directly in addition to pairing with the hub, such that simple automations will still work if the Internet connection is down (e.g. activating a switch with a motion sensor or door sensor). On the downside, YoLink's communication protocol is proprietary and not compatible with API's like OpenHAB. But so far the app's built-in automation features have been enough for my needs. The only other thing I would nitpick is that you can't configure the LED behavior on the switch itself, which some competing products allow. Alexa integration works great. The YoLink app keeps full history of switch state and allows configuring the switch's power-on state (recovery after power failure), which can be on, off, or last state. Device firmware upgrades are easy, though I would not recommend kicking off more than one or two at a time, as they all need to download from the hub. Overall I'm pretty happy with this purchase as well as other products in YoLink's ecosystem. [UPDATE] As of Jan 2024, these switches now cost $36 each, which is no longer a good value (not for a closed/proprietary API). They used to cost $22 each. Keeping the 5 star rating as I'm happy with my past purchases, but I won't be buying any more Yolink products if the prices stay this high.

--Update Feb 2024-- I have become reliant on this device. Setup is still working great and we have total control over our pellet stove wirelessly. I have added another to control the lights on our solar shed, works wonderfully. The base station is about 300 feet away in the basement and in a closet and I don't have connectivity issues ever. --Original-- I bought this for a project to install 12v lights on my shed, but I realized it would be perfect to control our Harman P43 pellet stove that I was planning on wiring to a millivolt thermostat. This turned out to be a better option. I split the negative wire on the room sensor probe and routed it through the relay portion. The controller pulls power from a 12v 12ah powerwheels batter (will swap this out for an 120v AC to 5v adapter later). When the relay is off the stove turns off with it and when the relay is on it automatically reignites in room sensor mode. I already have YoLink temperature / humidity sensors all over the house, so it was easy enough to create an automation in the app that toggles the relay on for three hours after the living room temperature sensor sends a low temperature alert (set for 64F). I was skeptical when I first purchased a YoLink product (I bought the water leak sensors + hub first), but I am a firm supporter of this brand now. Every single product I have bought from them has integrated easily and worked flawlessly. I currently have: 1 x Relay (soon to be more) 3 x Door/window sensors 6 x Indoor temp / humidity sensors 1 x Outdoor temp / humidity sensor 4 x Leak sensors 1 x Standard hub

I am a big fan of YoLink products and engineering and have a number of their different devices and the needed hub. But this on switch, which works beautifully and beautifully engineered and quality manufactured has a couple of quirks. The other YouLink devices I have come with batteries installed. This is nice because the hub recognizes the devices as soon as you open the box and then, once recognized by hub/app, you just press the little set button on the device to complete the communications with the hub and the device does not have to be close (YoLink is very unique this way and the distance it can cover is as advertised and much better than wifi type systems (including working through walls, etc.)). However, with the switch (and maybe similar AC operated devices) do not come with installed batteries so, being "dead" until you connect to AC, you have to install it first BUT in a manner that still allows you to scan the Qcode. This means letting it hang out of the box until you scan the Qcode on the side of the switch and then you can screw the switch into the box. No a big deal if you understand this (I didn't). Further, there is no "set" button which it asks you to push (like the battery operated devices), so ignore the instructions to press the non-exist Set button and just tap the switch paddle (with the power on!). Then it works perfectly (including automatically connecting to Alexa). My only other complaint is that the app uses a light blue font color for many things which is impossible (for anyone older) to read without glasses and a light. I can see no remote reason to use this light blue impossible to see color (some of your customers are over 30!). The use of some other color should be changed immediately! Lastly, although the app is very good (except for the light blue color) there is no normal "+" button to add a device. They use this obscure icon on the top menu bar to indicate that you need to press this icon to scan the Qcode on the device. YoLink, just add a "+" like everyone else. Lastly, and I say all this as a fan, you HAVE to scan the Qcode on the device. You cannot use the QCode or the bar code on the box. Mother other devices, like Ring, for example, allow for an alternative ID method like having the ID Qcode or bar code on the box or internal paperwork. You can even punch in the bar code number if it come to that. YoLink should change this. I had to pull the switch out of the electric box in order to scan the Qcode on the side of the switch. Further, the switch location may be up in the air or something making it difficult to scan it (when you didn't scan it before installing the switch!) YoLink should at least add to the first page of doc or include a flyer saying to scan the Qcode before installing (dummy)! Again, I say all this as having most every smart device and being a graduate EE who should know better. One gratuitous suggestion, I modified the door switch to accept a dry contact closure in addition or instead of a magnet. Doing so increases the uses of the device by an order of magnitude! (I do this with all the door closure sensor products. Works perfectly especially since Alexa does not easily provide for a dry contact closure input [there are a few obscure units now]) But, hat's off to YoLink.

I can't tell you enough about how impressed I am with this relay switch, related YoLink devices and the amazing technical support that I have received from YoLink. Let me explain. The water that enters my basement comes from a well. There is an expansion tank and a water heater in my basement but there is no basement floor drain. I have been concerned about any issues with leakage from the expansion tank and water heater. From my experience and from others, these both can fail causing water to run without stopping if the well pump is allowed to continue to run. If you look at my attached drawing and pictures you will see how I have handled my concern. The well pump operates on 240 volts AC. I ran the control power through a contactor that is controlled by this relay switch. YoLink answered any questions that I had and provided some guidance throughout my design. The YoLink relay switch is controlled by a YoLink water detector. Using the app I was able to pair them device to device. It was very simple. I am also alerted if there is any water detected or if the relay switch goes offline. Because they are paired they will activate even if my Wi-Fi is down. If I lose power, the pump will naturally not be allowed to run. Overall, I believe I have spent 20% of what I would have spent had. I purchased a specific device to shut off power to a well pump if water was detected. And the devices I looked at did not have apps to where I could monitor what was going on with my phone.

Great new product by YoLink. I used it in place of a timer for our automated chicken coop door. I easily just moved the 4 wires over from the timer to this relay. It was super easy to setup a schedule too! It also appears to have a timer function. BTW, don't be shocked when you open the package, this unit is tiny! Lots of cool uses for this unit. It is a 5amp relay but if you could power something with more current if you used it to control another relay.. much like I'm doing with our coop door. I do have 2 minor issues. 1) It only uses double-sided sticky tape to affix it. Would have been nice to have a way to use a screw to hold it in place. If you ever have to remove it, it will require you to put on new tape. 2) Because this is in our chicken coop, which has metal walls and our hub is in our shop, which also has metal walls, there is a bit of a range issue. I'm sure the walls are making it a challenge. I just moved my hub to a different place in my shop and is working fine, still passing through 2 walls.

Over the last few months finding out and learning about yolink products I ordered several wall Switch's and installed one in the bath room and two in the garage. They work perfect! In the garage removed my existing switch and installed a yolink one. I was able to set the switch to auto turn off after 5 hours of it being on (seeing that i am very seldom in the garage longer then that in one setting and at least if the lights are left on over the weekend it will get turned off automatically). Then I installed a second yolink by the other door into the garage. The second switch is just power to the yolink switch only it does not control any device. I then did Direct 2 Device pairing of both switches. I had to do this trice. One Pairing one direction and then paired the switches in reverse. By doing this both switches stay in sync so when I turn one on the other also goes on. And the same in reverse when one goes off the other goes off. All of this was done without the need of internet or even a yolink hub. Now I also have the garage door sensor for both of my garage doors. I then configured some automations and settings to track the garage doors open. If one door opens then the lights come on automatically. And if both doors close (and both have to be closed not just one) the lights will then go out! Then the I installed another switch in by bathroom to replace the exhaust fan switch. I also place a temp / humidity yolink sensor in the bathroom. Now when someone takes a shower and the humidity gets' above say 90 the fan kicks on automatically! And turns off once it drops down again. It's magic! But if someone just needs to use the restroom and they want the fan on they can manually turn it on and off like normal.

Only product which I used can stop those scammers hacking. Plus it has long distance effect. I used it to control my sliding gate which is constantly disturbed by neighbours scammer's signal . Its low frequency has strong signal and won't be jammed.

Exactly what I needed to turn on a hall light. This switch does not require a neutral wire to operate but uses a battery driven relay switch. Reliable and integrates well into the Yolink environment. Works well within Home Assistant to create more robust home automation.

Yolink dimmer performed very good. For me, the hardest part was tucking all the wires into the box and still having room for the switch itself as all dimmers have a deeper dimension to them. The switch is easily controlled by the app. I use routines to turn on and off this switch depending on time and whether a certain door is open or not. All good!
