Do you have to use an airbrush to properly use this paint or can I use a normal paint brush?

You can use a regular brush! As a matter of fact that's how I use most vallejo air paints. And even if you use an airbrush you could still use a bit of medium to dilute these paints more. Overall they are excellent. Just make sure to apply them to a dark base, otherwise it won't show.
