Does the power input port work?

Yes. The power cord of your fire device plugs into your right angle otg adapter and the adapter plugs into your hdmi input on your TV. Then you will be able to plug in a usb flash drive to add storage. Works great!

¿What is the output voltage?, need 5 volts.

The output is the same as the input, the voltage passes through the device. So, in general, the output is 5 Volts.

Is there a reason that my computer won't see the device when it's plugged into the computer with this adapter? Works fine without the adapter.

After my purchase of the product, I too found out that the device is not compatible too many electronic or items. In my attempt to add an external storage unit 2 My Fire stick. I really regret the purchase. Yes the fact is it is not compatible with most electronical products.

My car has only 1 usb port will this equipment give me another?

You want a hub with multiple ports. However many you think you need plus 1. You'll kick yourself if you get the number you need now, then need another in the future, LOL. For a car, you want a micro hub. If you look on the page at the company's other products, you'll see a 4-port micro hub.
