The Self-Regulation Workbook for Kids: CBT Exercises and Coping Strategies to Help Children Handle Anxiety, Stress, and Other Strong Emotions [Berman, Jenna] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. The Self-Regulation Workbook for Kids: CBT Exercises and Coping Strategies to Help Children Handle Anxiety, Stress, and Other Strong Emotions Review: Buy it! - Just buy it! My daughter cries at just about everything. We tried therapy, but that wasn't giving her tools to help her. She is on specialty vitamins. We took her to her doctor and talked to her teacher. She just seemed to be unable to process and express her emotions with out constant crying. Now my daughter asks to do this book. Just watching her as we read it you can tell it resonates with her. This seems to be the tool to help her understand and manage/process her emotions. Review: Helpful - This book is great for explaining different situations and creating thoughtful ways to discuss emotions with your child. The activities are in the moment and throughout the week to keep them thinking of the topic at hand.

Great for Adults too
This book I bought it for me (40yr old) and did it with my daughter (6yr old). Because of personal trauma I was stuck in the emotional brain of a 15 yr old and this book helped me a lot. Super recommended, and it becomes a handbook to come back to often when you need regulation help.

My two granddaughters love the ideas in the book. Smart activities to make learning about emotions fun.

Great resource
EDIT: I requested an exchange, and it arrived the next day. The printing was just as it should be. I have read some of the exercises and look forward to working through them with my son. I think the age range of 8-11 is appropriate. My son is almost 6, so I will use this book at a slow pace and adjust as necessary. ORIGINAL Review: I have requested a replacement and will adjust my review accordingly if it arrives in a usable form. The first copy I received is a misprint. The text is printed upside down (relative to the cover), backwards (flip through the pages in the opposite direction as a normal English text book), and a large portion of the side and bottom are cut off making this unusable since big pieces of text are missing.

Love
I have a daughter with ADHD who is more inattentive and has trouble with emotion regulation in particular. We used this book to sort through emotions (when not emotionally charged) and it has helped so much. Not only has her reactions decreased but it has helped her identify and communicate her feelings. Shared with her OT, definitely recommend.

Itโs basically CBT with some new activities
Itโs a very good book. However itโs not very different than what Iโve been using all along. Some of the newer activities are great.

Wonderful tips and exercises for self-regulation. However, the content is a bit disorganised and focuses on some of the wrong issues. May it's not for us.
