Fitness Reality E5500XL Magnetic Elliptical Trainer with Comfortable 18" Stride

Disclaimer: I will update this review in a few months time with more experience for a more complete overview. As for now, I say if you are on the fence about this machine GO FOR IT!!! Let's start with the packaging and delivery. It arrived a day early - it was like Christmas morning for me yesterday! The box is heavy duty, double walled and packed to perfection with very sturdy styrofoam casing. The hardest and longest part of the process from dragging inside to completion was getting it out of the box! Do not worry about any possible damage from shipping, it would literally have to fall off the truck to be damaged. It weighs 90lbs acording to the shipping label. I am a small woman and was able to pull it into my home on my own easily- even through a tight cornered enterway. The box is slim and long which makes it easy. **Be careful when going through the packing! There are three smaller packages containing the hardware, console and power adapter. Also note that the hardware for steps 4-6 are pre-installed on the various parts not in the hardware kit. Installation took me about an hour and a half. I was in no hurry and wanted to be sure I was reading carefully, tightening properly, aligning just right and greasing where necessary. Again, I am a small little human - so if you are worried about being capable of putting everything together fear not. Within 30 minutes of having completed the equipment, I jumped on. And, I am extremely happy with this purchase! It is strudy, silent (so far - if it starts to squeak or whine I'll grease it down.), and has great resistance levels. I only tested the first two programs (partially) before I was beat and needed to sit down. ;-) If you are looking for quality elipictical that is going to tone (as much as an elipictical can provide of course) you and give you a challenging cardio routine for weight loss this will do it. I am no longer at peak fitness or endurance as I once was, which is why I purchased this elipictical. However, I do chase two babies around all day, walk around my city daily and constantly lift heavy objects at work. All of that to say, that I have decent endurance so this elipictical will accomdate anyone from beginner to gym rat. It just depends on what you want from the machine. Be realistic and committed to yourself and you will see results. Lastly, it is enormous. It is quite literally taller then I am. I am 5'1" so that is not a hard task but I do have to step up to get on to it and the handles are a good 3" taller at least. *please forgive typos, review was written on a phone.

I am going to be 40 this summer (ouch!) and have been borderline sedentary the past 2-3 years with a few stints where I started an exercise regimen and didn't stick with it. I decided this year was the year to shed my final 30 pounds of baby weight I haven't been able to shake for the past 4 years. When I found this elliptical I read the reviews, which were for the most part positive. I've always gotten the best results from ellipticals in my past work out endeavors so I decided to give this one a try. I was a bit nervous and didn't know what to expect from a $300 elliptical. It arrived fairly quickly. The box had some minor damage, most likely from being dropped during shipping and handling. I enlisted my hubby's help and technical expertise to put it together. Once it was put together (and I didn't get much feedback on set-up, so it must have been relatively uneventful) my hubby informed me that the fairing, the shell that houses the motor, had a small crack in it. He said it did not appear to affect the machine's performance in any way but that there was a rattle when the machine was in use. I've used it several times since he set it up and yes, I can attest to that. It's not super loud, but I know it would be whisper quiet without the cracked fairing. Annoying, yes. A deal breaker, no. I think that piece might be one of the only parts susceptible to that kind of damage straight from the box. My advice would be to inspect any plastic pieces carefully before putting the machine together so that if you DO need a replacement part you won't have to completely dismantle the machine and put it all back together. To Amazon's credit they were very responsive to my concern and offered a number of resolutions. None of them involved a replacement part, only a complete replacement of the whole machine which would've involved dismantling it, shipping it back (being withOUT the machine), and waiting for a new one. In the end, Amazon offered a resolution that made me happy enough. For the cost, IF the crack affects the performance, I can just order a new one. For now I think I'll be ok with the one I have. I would recommend to Amazon to reevaluate how they pack, ship, and/or handle certain parts of this machine so that if the machine IS dropped in transit (which it probably will be) parts resist damage. I love just about everything about the machine. It performs about as well, if not better, than any of its counterparts that cost 3-5X as much. I love the preset programs, the backlit display, and the 18" stride (very important to me as I am all legs). I wouldn't rely on the heart rate monitor grips built into the machine for an accurate HR reading. I'm pretty sure it reads a lower HR than I actually had during my work outs, which isn't good for someone of my "advanced years" monitoring their heart rate during a long workout. I will be picking up a dedicated HR monitor in the next few days to compensate and compare with the machine's reading. Definitely worth getting for anyone on a budget, but wants a solid elliptical with a fair amount of amenities.

Purchased this elliptical 3 months ago. It is the first elliptical that we have ever owned. It arrived via UPS the day after I ordered it. It took me two or three hours to assemble it. I took my time and did not rush. The assembly instructions were very good and easy to follow. My wife and I have been using it every day. The machine is very sturdy and quiet and provides an excellent workout for the both of us. The motion of the elliptical is very smooth and our knees and hips are not bothered at all by the continuous motion. We are seniors, in our early 70's, and we both really enjoy using this piece of workout equipment. Would definitely recommend.

Preis-Leistung ist bei dem Gerät wirklich top. Für den Preis ist die Qualität wirklich sehr gut. Wir benutzen es jetzt schon seit einem Jahr und es funktioniert noch immer sehr gut und zeigt auch keinerlei Probleme an. Das einzige, was uns etwas gestört hat, waren die Plastikklappen, da sie beim Sport Geräusche gemacht haben, aber dann haben wir sie einfach abgemacht, weil sie nicht notwendig sind

Was kann man von einem Crosstrainer für € 240.39 erwarten. Geliefert 21.06.2023 Das Gerät wurde gut verpackt und pünktlich geliefert. Für mich war der Aufbau schwierig (bin kein Handwerker) aber irgendwann geschafft. Anfänglich lief das Gerät angenehm leise, aber nach einigen Malen der Nutzung ( 2 Personen, je 3 mal pro Woche, ca. 50 Min, Körpergewicht 70 und 90 Kilo) kam es zu unregelmäßigem Knacken. Nachdem es schlimmer wurde, wollte ich das Teil am 18.07.2023 zurück schicken. Ich bekam auch einen Retourenschein, müsste aber das auseinander gebaute und ordnungsgemäß verpackte Teil zu einer GLS-Station bringen. Alternativ könnte ich die Retoure auf eigene Kosten abholen lassen. Da ich den Karton nicht mit meine Smart Cabrio transportieren konnte und mir auch der Abbau und die Verpackung als sehr schwierig vorkamen, entschied ich mich trotz der Geräusche, den Crosstrainer zu behalten. Mitte 11.2023 stellte er seinen Dienst dann komplett ein, die Pedale lassen sich nicht mehr bewegen, und steht seither rum. Der Service ist leider sehr schlecht bzw. nicht vorhanden Mehrere Anfragen per Mail bleiben unbeantwortet, Anrufe werden nicht entgegengenommen. Für 5 Monate Nutzungsdauer ist der vermeintlich günstige Preis dann doch nicht o.k. Zitat: die Freude am günstigen Preis ist längst verflogen, wenn uns die schlecht Qualität noch ärgert. Für mich leider Empfehlung.

Its very sturdy. Well made. Silent. My only complaint: the calorie counter doesn't work? The numbers just glitch all over the place?

We were happy when it arrived quickly and everything in good condition. It took several hours for my husband to put it together but when all was up and running we are very happy with our purchase. We would highly recommend this elliptical machine. I had fallen and broke my tibia and tibia plateau and after surgery and 3 months of no weight bearing on my leg and after physio I needed to move on to a more muscle strengthening exercise, I know I’m still a ways of being back to normal as much as I can but this machine is helping me get there. My husband had pancreatic cancer surgery and chemo and during that time he couldn’t do much so his muscles got weak also but now is using this machine and is getting stronger. I’m 66 and my husband 68 and there’s no age to get fit and stay fit.....we’re both still using it with no tension it’s strong enough for us at this time but eventually we will be able to crank it up. It’s a very solid machine so I hang on to it when getting on and off and doesn’t tilt at all.
