Rode SC3 3.5mm TRRS to TRS Cable Adaptor for smartLav Microphone

I bought this to use a lapel mic for my GoPro. I been using it for about a year and works well and have not had a single issue.

It let me use a lavalier microphone with the Rode Me. Worked great.

So I was using the adapter that came with my Professional Grade Lavalier Lapel Microphone ­ Omnidirectional Mic to plug into my Zoom H4N PRO Digital Multitrack Recorder , which has the mic port in the back for some strange reason, and it must have gotten bent when I set the recorder down. I bought this adapter as a substitute and it's perfect. It's already angled so it won't accidentally bend, and the female end is attached by a cord so it moves freely anywhere you need it to. It's an ideal adapter. I would toss out the original and just use this.

Although this is a handy piece of hardware, it does convert the TRRS to TRS correctly however some digital audio recorders do not except this conversion without a lot of play with the cord. Having said that the overall purpose of this product does meet the expectation. I bought this to convert my Rode Smart lavalier mic to work on my other audio devices other than my smart phone or tablet. In some cases for instance with my Roland R-05 Digital audio recorder, that unit does not except the conversion with ease. However on many of the video cameras, and cheaper audio recording devices it does seem to do the trick and it does it very well. However if you want a true TRS microphone I think the Best route is to buy one that is already wired with a TRS connection. Anytime a conversion cable is required there is always the possibility of difficulty, interference etc. I hope anyone looking at this comment takes what I say with a grain of salt. The item does exactly what it says it does, however to keep it simple it just doesn't work on every device with ease.

This is needed for the SmartLav to work with any camera. It is very small and feels kinda cheap, but it's very durable. Been using this for years.

I don't use this anymore, but when I DID use it, it was very helpful. The reason i bought it, was because I used it for vlogging with the Canon EOS M3, which has a flip UP screen so I can't use the mount for a mic AND see the screen. So instead I bought a Rode VideoMic Me, which mounted to my camera via a wall mount cable holder thing. But that mic is for phones and doesn't work in cameras....without this splitter, that is. So I used it for that and it worked fine. I ended up getting a new camera (EOS M50), which allows me to do what I want, and mount a better mic on top, because the screen flips to the side. So I no longer need this, nor the mic I used it with. But it's still good for those that do need it.

This adaptor connects a TRRS lavalier microphone for smartphones to my Canon t5i's TRS jack. The mic doesn't work with the camera without this adaptor. Clean audio with no pops or noise. It's kind of expensive for what it is, and it could be longer, but it works exactly like it should. I expect no less from Rode.

I do not recommend this item. My TRRS headphones work great when plugged directly into my Macbook or iPhone, so they don't have an issue. I have another TRS audio port (built into my desk) that works great when I plug TRS headphones into it, so it doesn't have an issue. My TRRS headphones can't get both channels of audio properly through the TRS port, though, so I purchased this item as an adapter between the connections. I also chose this particular item because of the 90-degree connector (helps in my situation). My first complaint is that the wire between the connectors is very thin. I suppose that's visible in the images for the product, but it didn't strike me just how thin and weak it is until I received the item and held it in my hands. I would never expect quality audio through a wire so thin. My second complaint is that the item just doesn't work. With all plugs fully connected, I get no audio through it. By playing around with how far inserted the connections are, I can get only 1 channel of audio to go through it. I'm very disappointed in this item, particularly after paying $15 for it. I will be returning it, but I unfortunately don't recall seeing another item on Amazon that performs the same conversion with the 90-degree connector that I would like.

Compré este cable como complemento para el RODE SmartLav+ pues lo uso para videoblogs grabando el audio de manera externa en una grabadora TASCAM DR-07 Mk II. El resultado es excelente y puedo guardar este cable en la bolsa incluida en el mismo micrófono, no ocupa mucho espacio. A pesar de la aparente fragilidad, este cable ha resistido el uso rudo que le he dado al micrófono. Aún así creo que estaría bien si hicieran una versión sin cable, que vaya directamente de tres canales a dos en un mismo dispositivo. A pesar de esto comprendo que el cable da algo de maniobrabilidad y aligera el tamaño para no estorbar ni en almacenamiento como en uso.

Article commandé pour accompagner mon Rode SmartLavPlus, que j'utilise pour mes vidéos youtube en complément de mon micro USB Blue Yeti. Objectif réussi : brancher mon petit micro cravate de Rode sur mon Reflex Panasonic G80 et bénéficier d'un son de bonne qualité Et oui, si on branche son SmartLav+ sur autre chose qu'un smartphone, le son est horrible du coup cet adaptateur est indispensable. Cet adaptateur SC3 de Rode, offre un bon rapport qualité prix : ça marche, de bonne qualité, et cela ouvre le champs des possibles pour votre micro de poche Pas cher, je recommande d'adjoindre à votre microphone une rallonge Jack, car si avec votre smartphone le câble de 1.5m n'était pas trop court, avec un appareil photo ou caméscope c'est une autre histoire ! Pour se mouvoir librement Rode propose donc une rallonge : Rode SC1 Rallonge pour SmartLav et SmartLav+ - 6m Avec ces 2 accessoires vous êtes parés pour réaliser toutes sortes de vidéos, dans de nombreuses conditions.
