Can I use this cord to hang strings of lights at a wedding. the runs are no more than 75' and baring 15lbs

I use this Dacron to pull up ham radio wire antennas. This stuff holds up great in all weather and is super strong and pliable. It'll handle strings of lights, no problem.

Is this really only 93 lb test?

No, Test or Max Tensile is closer to 800 lbs. The 93 lb number is a safe bet recommendation as a day to day work load amount for enhanced long life performance. Thanks for your question!

Can this rope be melted to mend ends together?

The rope can certainly be melted and the ends can be fused together, but please be aware that the point where they are fused will be a weak spot and will not have a predictable strength. Please take precautions and wear appropriate safety gear to avoid burns as a result of melting these synthetic fibers.

Want to use this in place of paracord due to stretch but I have been seeing one end inside other to form a loop how best with this cord?

I just tie a bowline if I need to form an end loop. It’s not a neat braided eye- splice, but strong/ won’t slip/ cone undone... yet won’t seize/ can always be untied. If you need to tie a loop along the line without access/ using either end... use a Butterfly Knot.

Works great as guy ropes for tall objects, and for hanging/rigging Halloween props! Low stretch, high strength, light weight. Holds knots well. Hard to see against a dark sky. Vastly superior to paracord in these applications!
