I know it sounds strange, but trust me, it works. A friend of mine told me about this trick and it worked on a blouse I had a stain on for YEARS. It had been washed and dried so many times and I was sure it would not work... amazingly, it did work! I have used this several times since and it has worked every time!!! **Q: Did anyone try to use washing machine method? Why is it only recommended for stove top method? This dye is for synthetics, and might work for example, if the lace is 100% polyester. If it's a mix of synthetic and cotton, this will dye the synthetic bits but not the cotton. The regular dye will do for the cotton, but not synthetics. IF you are prepared to junk the curtains if you guess wrong, then go ahead.
