Im looking for a pillow for my newborn will this be okay?

NO. This is NOT okay for a newborn. There is no pillow that is okay for a newborn or young infant. For newborns and infants who cannot yet roll over and sit up, the recommended rule is ABC: Alone (no blankets, pillows, stuffed animals, toys, etc., just the fitted sheet) Back (on their backs, preferably swaddled or in a sleep sack) Crib (or bassinet, playpen, or other purpose-built sleeping place with a firm surface, but NOT in an adult's bed) If you need to elevate an infant's head while sleeping for some reason (nasal congestion, reflux, etc.), use a crib wedge under the mattress.

approximate 8 x 10 1 1/2 to 2 inches think Perfect for my mum as she has it on back of her chair and she can lean on it and it is not to puffy.

Is this good as a 1.5 year old as a night pillow?

From a personal reflective, I would say yes. As long as the 1.5 year old sleeps on its back. This is a soft and not overly cushy pillow. I can't see a young child having an issue with it.

Can I use this pillow to replace the pillow insert inside of my sons toddler sleeping bag that he uses for school?

If your son uses an Urban Infant Tot Cot then yes! If he uses a different brand you will want to double check the dimensions of your sons sleeping bag. Our pillow is 11"x7"x2.5"! Hope this helps!
