DELICIOUS!
The texture is just like ground beef already browned when you take it out of the can. I was very surprised. It is also really packed in the can, so you get over a pound, which makes the price really worth it. Think about if you bought a pound of ground beef and then browned it how much you would actually have left. This is a little over a pound and you don't lose any in the cooking process because you are just heating it. As I've said in other posts, my husband is a true carnivore, as in I think he's afraid of green things, LOL! :) The Vege-Burger is perfect for us. I don't know that there are a lot of couples out there were there is a vegetarian who married a carnivore, maybe I'm wrong, but, that's us. He has had this in Enchiladas and Spaghetti with "meat" sauce and has loved both. Both times he was surprised when I told him it wasn't real meat. I did take the advice of the one reviewer who said to make sure you season it. I did season it first, but it's not too bad even without seasoning.

Perfection in a Can
I love this product! I used to buy frozen vegetarian meat substitutes for years and was never satisfied with the textures. I was surprised to find out that a great substitute could come from a can! I use it for chili, pasta sauces, sloppy Joes, and meat loaf. Everything turns out great and is adaptable to a variety of flavor additives. I remove it from the can go the pan with a fork if I want crumbles. I remove it as a solid from the can by opening both ends and pushing it out for slicing into burgers. I also use this method when mixing with other ingredients for meatballs and meatloaf.

Hard to find; a decent price for the case.
We're vegetarians, and this burger is great for anything casserole or chili-like. The cans are the equivalent of a very generous 1+ pound of burger, and very handy to keep in the pantry. I wouldn't eat it out of the can, and it looks a bit like dog food at first glance, but it blends very nicely into whatever you're making. Another plus is that is doesn't take up freezer space. In my opinion, tastes better than many of the other crumbles out there. Very hard to find locally, so we buy it by the case.

Great multi-purpose! Sloppy Joes, patties, tacos, egg muffin bakes, soups, etc!
YUM! Glad to have been able to get this on Amazon, as I don't live in Loma Linda or have access to their market! Lots of uses, and healthier than carcass options!

Shrunk by 4oz per can
It's a good product but reorder means reorder exact purchase and each can is 4oz less so total order 48 oz less than before which is equal to 2.5 cans. And price of course did not decrease and now all my recipes will need to be altered....

Been eating this since I was born and I am 53 years old
My Mom used Vege-Burger instead of ground beef since I was born (I am 53). For me, this is what a "hamburger" is made of. One has to know how to prepare this product in order for it to taste its best. My Mom taught me how to do it and I still eat it today. It is the ground beef substitute to which I compare all other ground beef substitutes and none of them are better than Vege-Burger. I now use Loma Linda and Worthington Foods meat substitutes exclusively since Morning Star Farms and the like widely available in grocery stores have the made with genetic engineering/technology label packages. I sincerely hope these two original veggie food producers do not follow suit.

good food poor packaging
The product in the can is good quality. The packaging is inadaquate for shipping The cardboard carton was nearly disintegrated when it arrived. I was sad cause it was a gift.
