They keep the circulated flow from having nasty algae visibly floating around the tank’s water. Let’s be honest here, if you are worried about a critique on a small filter, for a small tank, for small inexpensive fish, you may be worrying about things that don’t matter.

The Aqueon six pack of small filter cartridges comes exactly as pictured. In a small bag with all the specifications on it. It is a resealable bag so the filters that are not being used stay relatively clean. Each filter comes individually packed with a set amount of carbon pebbles. They have a plastic backbone that is covered with a mesh of synthetic material containing all the carbon pebbles. The packaging comes with a very clear set of instructions on it. They are printed right on the bag so you can never loose them. It is very easy to install these. you just line up the divot in the filter cartridge where the material juts in and line that up directly with the part in the filter that juts out they fit like pieces of a puzzle. The plastic tab on the filter cartridge folds up and lays flesh with the filter box. These filter cartridges fit perfectly in the mini bow filter. The cartridges last about a month depending upon the amount of debris in your tank. For me with only a single better fish this filter cartridge lated me a little over a month. I could imagine that with more fish it would have to be changed out more often than that. I really like these filters because they save me from having to clean the tank each week. In only a gallon of water it is said that a partial water change should be made every week. However, with these filters I can miss a weekly water change and still rest assured that my Betta’s health is not in danger. These filters neutralize the water and aid in the removal of toxic ammonia from the water. I love how easy these are to use and I am happy to purchase them because of how much time they save me. I would definitely recommend these because they are easy, quick, and inexpensive. Pick these up today.

This filter really did a great job of removing excess gunk from our betta fish tank. Definitely helped keep the nitrate and nitrite levels in check! must replace semi monthly - monthly (in my experience).

Work great and came fast...but the title make you think you’re gonna get 24 filters for that price...but you will get a pack of 6...that’s it. Medium and large size say 12 in the title like on the box in the picture...but this logic dose not apply to the small size...title versus picture.

We use these all the time in our 5 gallon fish tank, they work well and are good quality. Never have any problems.
