This binocular is very compact. With the tubes folded in, I can cover the whole thing with my hand (which is just medium-size). It can easily be carried in a shirt pocket. It is fairly light in weight, but does not feel flimsy. It has a little density due to the metal and glass in the construction. This small heft helps in holding it steady in use. The image is very bright, sharp, and clear. The field of view is quite good, only a little less wide than full-size binoculars of the same magnification. There is a little area of blurriness just around the very outer edges of the image, but this is not unusual and it doesn't interfere with their use. As for night vision - it is as bright as any other compact binocular I have used. Full-size binoculars, like 7x35s, have lenses much larger than the human eye's, so they gather in more light. This provides the "see in the dark" function of full-size binoculars, which show detail in areas too dark to see into with the unaided eye. Given their much smaller lenses, compact binoculars don't have that effect. With this one, like most, you can't see into dark areas any better than with your eyes alone. Overall I find this binocular to provide excellent image quality in a very comfortable size. I recommend it.

Perfect for reading small print and the movie overview text. I had another small set of binoculars. With them I could only read a couple of words at a time. At 15' from the TV I can read a half dozen at a time the image and focus are very good. They are light enough to hold with one hand for quite some time. I am going to buy one for my grandson when he is a bit older.

Overall these are not bad binocs for the price. They're not as good as a really good set of binocs, but they are very small and easy to carry/pack and work nicely in a pinch.

nice compact binoculars when you don't want to carry a full-size pair

I ordered these for easy carry in a briefcase or pocket and general / travel use. I fly twice a week and live in hotels and airports and use bino's for street navigation and exploration. The item is called "10x42" meaning 10 times magnification but what was received as 8x21, or 8 times magnification. You can see the photo is of 8x21 bino's, not 10x42. Also, my package did not include a neck strap, just the attachment points. My dissatisfaction is in getting 8x not 10x as cited in the title. That said, they are small, light easy to focus and work well. Good value for the money. Additionally, they seem to be completely identical to several other seller's offerings, as in the exact same binoculars, for varying prices.

Picked up these on sale for $15 after coupon. Good little pair of Bino's for stashing on the four wheeler just to have. I'm pleasantly surprised at how well constructed they are. Definitely would buy again. As a matter of fact, I just bought a second pair for the truck.

Definitely great binoculars for the price both in optical quality and body construction. Surprised .. I was skeptical because they seemed too good to be true (and Amazon has a huge problem with reviews being posted to the wrong products), but such is not the case here. My son loves them. Make sure you take the time to figure out how to orient the lenses but also your eyes so that your brain actually stitches together a single image. You may feel yourself go slightly cross eyed for it to work (but this is normal).

I was very disappointed to not to receive this item. I really looked forward to taking it with me on birding trips. The description made it seem like the ideal tool to take on a hiking trip. They said it was small and excellent for birding. It's too bad I didn't get a chance to find out if it was a good product.

Et bien franchement je ne suis pas déçue, je l'ai acheté pour repérer les nids de frelon asiatique et j'en ai déjà repéré deux dont un qui était extrêmement bien planqué. c'est un excellent investissement On voit vraiment de loin c'est bluffant
