Excellent sprayer, gets the job done
I have 3 different size tank sprayers (1,2,3 gallon) and was tired of carrying them around the farm. We have a 300 ft barn lane and 400 ft drive with a half circle turn around with gravel surface. I use 6 gal of spray to keep weeds/grass out of drives. We have 3 pastures totaling 20 acres surrounded by woods and 26 acres of woods in a woodland management plan. I needed a sprayer that I could use to kill invasive species along the pasture edge and in the woods. This sprayer does the trick. It worked perfectly right out of the box. The wide mouth on the tank with a screen allows you to pour chemical easily into the sprayer and the screen catches anything that might fall into it. I was able to take water, chemical and sprayer in a trailer to the back of the property, mix it the field and spray the pastures edge. I used 11 gallon of chemical first time I used the sprayer and it worked great. No leaks, 5 or 6 pumps pressurizes the tank with excellent spray coverage. With the wand I can reach 10 ft high and the spray is another 3 ft so I can reach places I couldn't reach with the hand held sprayers. Having the sprayer on your back is much easier than carrying around a tank and having to stop to pump 12 or 15 times to keep good pressure. I thought I would use more chemical due to the excellent spray coverage but I was pleasantly surprised that I used less chemical than before. I was able to spray about 1000 ft of pasture edge with the 11 gallons of spray. We have serious problems with Chinese bittersweet, grapevine and privet so I use Crossbow in the sprayer. Clean up was easy, the filter on the wand is easy to get to, the nozzle is easy to remove. The one thing I can't use it for is walking thru brush to get to invasive plants that are well hidden but I knew that before I bought this sprayer. With a tank full of spray on your back it is hard to maneuver in close quarters. If you are looking for a good sprayer, at a fair price that does the job intended then look no further than this sprayer. It is well worth the investment. One caveat is that any piece of equipment is only has good as the maintenance so I would encourage you to clean after every use, use vaseline on the o-rings and take care of the equipment you purchase.

No leaks and incredible pressure!
I have gone through quite a few garden sprayers over the years, but this four gallon backpack model is by far the best one I have ever used. The standout feature for me is the internal pump design. With my older sprayers, I would constantly end up with harsh chemicals leaking down my back, but this unit keeps my clothing completely dry. The padded shoulder straps and waist belt make carrying a full tank surprisingly comfortable, even when I am walking around the yard for an hour at a time. The internal agitator paddles are also a fantastic touch because they keep my powdered fertilizers perfectly mixed while I work. The performance is exactly what I needed for treating my large property. It pumps up to an impressive 150 PSI, which makes it incredibly easy to reach the higher branches of my trees without needing a ladder. Having six different nozzles included right out of the box gives you total versatility whether you need a wide fan spray for weed killer or a direct stream for bug control. The brass shut off valve feels very heavy duty and the lockable trigger absolutely saves my hands from cramping up during long jobs. If you do your own lawn care and need a reliable piece of equipment, I highly recommend picking this up.

Great, reliable product
I have two of these backpack sprayers and I have been extremely pleased with them. I purchased my first over a year ago for herbicide, and a second recently for insecticide. I do not use a lot of the attachments, but it is nice that they are available for when the need arises. These are used in the woods and stored in a shed, and as far as I can tell the components are durable for that line of work. I have never had a problem with pressure retention, and hope to get many years out of these two sprayers.

The sprayer works as advertised
Design and ability to self-repair is a nice feature plus the multiple tips and it comes with a user guide in print The sprayer works as advertised. It can be quite heavy with 4 gallons. With adjustments to the straps, while empty, it is easier once filled to put in on your shoulders and buckle up the waist and chest straps. I personally leave one strap (left) as is without loosening it after my initial adjustments, then the other (right) just needs a tensioning to level the sprayer once I put it on the left shoulder. The padding of the shoulder straps is adequate, but more would be better for comfort. The pump handle is able to be mounted on the left or right depending on your needs. The hardware to attach the handle is more than adequate with the use of a thread in bolt and Nyloc nut to ensure it stays there. It takes less than 5 pumps to build up the pressure. You will pump it more than expected to maintain pressure regularity, but it is an easy no exertion action with your arm more or less lying on the pump handle. I sprayed a half acre of a fence line, 3 buildings, and walkways plus a 70-foot drainage ditch using two 4 gallon fills. The wand and hose are just long enough for me at 5'9" where I don't have to bend over to spray my target. There are multiple tips that can be used based on your needs, and as the manufacturer and others here have recommended, it is a good idea to put a gallon of water only in as a test liquid to pick out the tip you prefer. With my application of a concentrated weed and grass killer, the Fan tip (Red) served me well. The Brass adjustable tip would have also been acceptable for a smaller application area. Remember this: A US liquid gallon of water weighs about 8.34 pounds or 3.78 kilograms, so you have to be willing to carry that weight initially plus the weight of the sprayer. (approx. 13 lbs or 5.896701 kg). Totally filled with 4 gallons results in approx. a total weight of 46lbs or 20.86525 kg Would I recommend it? Yes, It does save time having to refill the smaller sprayers and measuring out the mix of concentrate for large jobs. Is it for everyone? No, The decision to go larger than a carry pump sprayer is strictly yours.

Well designed for use and comfortable.
I picked this backpack sprayer because of the simple harness compared to the more complex setups of pro sprayers or lack of waist and chest buckle on the really cheap models. It fits well and is simple to adjust while using. I wanted to point out that there are a number of negative reviews here, saying that they got a used sprayer filled with some kind of poison. It needs to be made clear that the unit was factory filled with a test liquid and storage/shipping preservative. The first time you pump it and use it, this will spray out of the house and there is a fair amount of it. Don't do it inside or pointing at yourself. I'm reasonably sure it's non toxic, but it does stink. Also, it would seem several complaints talk about back spray coming from the handle. To someone who doesn't understand the not well written instructions, they more than likely didn't install the seal in the nozzle. Or they didn't push it all the way in, before putting the nozzle on. Just make sure it's pushed all the way into the nozzle and bottoms out. I would say the only complaint I have is the manual. It's small print, and not laid out well. Everything you need to know is in there, but it's digrams and exploded views are not "instantly understood". It was written by an engineer, and not a person who writes manuals, lol. The one thing I don't understand is the number if negative reviews that talk about it leaking on their backs with whatever poison they put in it to test it. Don't be a lazy fool. Test it with plain water before you load it up with your toxin of choice. Don't overtighten anything and make sure you keep it clean and dry. It's a simple, effective sprayer, that has parts that wear out and need to be replaced. Keep it clean and lube it's moving parts with a little lithium grease. Replace the seals with new ones when they start deforming. It should last for many years.

Game Changer for Spraying Weeds!
If you're wondering if buying this backpack sprayer is worth it, let me make it easy on you - Buy it, This sprayer is worth every single penny. Between weeds in flower beds, in the expansion joints in my driveway, and in brick sidewalks with lots of small gaps, I have to spray weed killer every few months and it is a hassle. I bought this to replace a 1 gallon pump that I had been using and would have to refill 3-4 times. The 4 gallon tank and the hand pump speed up work significantly. It is great quality - well made and feels sturdy. You can tell that they didn't skip any corners. The steel frame allows you to set it down easily, but isn't too heavy on your back. The straps and belts to secure it are very comfortable once you get it on. Even the screw on lid is solid and well made. It takes the pressure off of your back not only from not having to carry a smaller sprayer, but also because the sprayer heads spray as far as you need without having to bend over. If you have a direct stream you can spray it precisely, or a spread out stream you can easily pump while you spray a larger area. The different sprayer tips work extremely well and haven't clogged once. It sprays more than other sprayers I have used (which I personally like) but there a flow limiter attachment if you want to use it.

Easy to assemble, easy to use!
Such a GREAT sprayer. Easy to assemble. Put the pump handle on either the right or left side (great to have this option.) For general spraying, a cone-shaped mist comes out strong. This backpack sprayer costs more than what the big box stores charge, but the quality is so much better. Highly recommend!

Big Flaw
Read before buying. I assembled the sprayer and when I opened the cap, there was water in the tank. Clearly someone had the same issue that I had and returned it. Initially, I thought maybe the manufacture tested it before shipping. I cleaned it out and I added two gallons of water and chemicals. Within 2 minutes of putting it on my back, the plastic back piece that attaches to the tank detached at the top and the tank flopped awkwardly backwards where it was hanging off my back. Because of the sudden and unexpected weight shift, I was thrown off balance and almost fell backwards. Apparently there was two metal screws that attach the top of the grey plastic back piece to the tank. I tried screwing them back in to see if they were just loose. They weren't loose, they just easily came out of the plastic holes. Clearly metal screws going into plastic is not enough to hold the weight of two gallons of water. Meanwhile this is a four gallon capacity. Without this functioning, you can't use this sprayer as a backpack and can't really use it at all. I needed to get this job done so I had to use duct tape to keep the grey plastic back piece attached to the tank. Thank god for duct tape, but completely ridiculous that I had to use it in order to get this sprayer to function. The sprayer is being returned immediately. Be very careful about using this sprayer. Would hate to hear of anyone getting hurt.

Great quality sprayer
Great quality sprayer, little more expensive but definitely worth the extra cost, wish I had bought this first time round as I would of saved buying a cheap one, they do say buy quality once.

No leaks, One Pump = lots of spray, works really well
After going through 3-4 different pump sprayers from Bunnings Australia, I found this recommended online from many US based websites. The sprayer came well packed and was easy to assemble, I was only required to add the Pump handle, attach the spray wand and the cone tip. Additional seals and spray configurations are also provided which is nice. The Instructions are well written and legible. I quickly added Round-up, detergent and some dye and was pumping and spraying my front and backyard in no time. There were no issues with leakages at all and the pump lever action is satisfying to use. Functionality: 5/5 Durability: 5/5 (Used twice so far, but it didn't blow the seals after use, which has beaten all the competition I've tried so far) Features & Accessories: 5/5 Honestly, this is the best spray I've used and is worth the investment. It looks easy to maintain and repair also. Don't bother with a el-cheapo that'll break after 1-2 uses.

Great and reliable knapsack
I have used this knapsack about 8 times now and I love it. I have used cheaper packs before that have failed after the first few uses, but this is still going strong. I use it pretty full and the hardest part is lifting it on my back. I usually place it on a short wall so I can slide it on more easily. Even with repeated use at max capacity, it hasnโt missed a beat.
