I have exactly a 12" width opening. Will this fit? I'm concerned the size of the 2 hinges plus the tray will exceed 12 inches. Thanks!

Good question! I just measured. Each hinge takes up 1/4", which adds 1/2" to the 10-7/8" tray, for a total of 11-3/8"' which will give you more than 1/2" to spare if you only have 12". So you are good to go!

How deep are the hinges and / or tray when closed ( how much space is needed beyond the inside of the cabinet)?

The trey is 2" deep. The mounting bracket also is 2" deep. Mounted flush to my 3/4" thick cabinet, 1.25" sticks past the cabinet.
