## Description

Kodak Pro Image 100 Professional ISO 160, 35mm, 36 Exposures, Color Negative Film (5 Roll perPack)

Review: I purchased The Kodak Pro-Image 100 to try out as an all around general purpose film. I was pleasantly surprised at how this film performed! I live in an area North West California Coast )that has pretty high humidity and noted that this film is made specifically for this type of environment. It is also rated as able to be stored at room temps in this type of environment, high humidity and higher than normal temps. Perfect for everyday storage and carry. These were all pluses for me but the proof is the final result and this film really preforms, and well! Colors are well saturated and represented but not over the top or overly saturated. The contrast is nice and even across the entire spectrum but seems to favor midtone and the shadow region. The entire color spectrum is well represented with a slight favor towards the reds. Skin/Flesh tone is right on and as stated, not over saturated but well defined and natural. With a normal Mufti-coated Uva or Skylight filter this film has a very very slight tilt towards being warm but you really have to look for it. Greens are dead on and again on the warm side, not harsh but natural with no blue cast. I added a Nikon A2 warming filter which is what I normally use when shooting Fuji Provia or Fuji 50 to bring it up just a bit and it really liked the combination. The results were better than what I had expected. Again, nothing over the top as far as color saturation but slightly better contrast in the highlights and lighter regions and overall slightly warmer across the spectrum. Where the Pro-Image 100 really shines was when I started home scanning the processed negatives. It is a really easy film to scan. Very little correction is needed and the results were almost as good as the scans I got from the Lab when I had the film processed. My limiting factor is my scanner and not the Negatives. For the average user wanting to scan their own negatives the Pro-Image 100 will give you great results. It also has great latitude. You can Push this stuff quite a bit with little loss in detail and some slight improvement in contrast. When shot at normal ASA grain is almost undiscernable and very slight when pushed to 2 stops. In fact this was one of the first things that I noticed when reviewing the scans and prints from the first several test rolls I had processed. Slightly underexposing Pro-Image 100 produces usable shots but with some loss in detail in the darker or shadow region but still results in a usable shot. I took three test shots Bracketed and threw them into my HDR program with excellent results. The final tone-mapped image was stunning and better than expected. I normally shoot slide film but after trying this Print film and seeing how well it performs it will fill a gap in my shooting requirements. I have one camera now always loaded with a roll of this for everyday shooting when I'm out and about. A good film for those Sunny days at the beach or anywhere ample light is available.(Or Pushed a stop or two) I shoot available light only and don't shoot with a flash, so I cant comment on how well it works with a flash. One thing of note that should be mentioned; The several Sunset shots I took with this film were stunning! All in all I am very happy with Kodak Pro-Image 100. For the price and the level of performance, its a great value! Jen
