I put my helmet in a helmet bag first before zipping up so as to protect my tinted face shield.

I love this bag overall. Great design with nice features. I do wish it was an inch or 2 bigger. I have a full size motorcycle helmet. It zips just a little snug. Not enough where it doesn't work, but reading others posts about the zippers, I worry about wear over time. It does have room for drink bottle, gloves, etc above the helmet. But like I said, overall, nice bag!
